Microsoft OneNote is an excellent digital note-taking application featuring an intuitive layout and a wide range of functionality. It is a great option for effective note management because of its strong organizational structure, cross-platform synchronization, large free version, superior web clipper, and collaborative features. OneNote is mostly dependent on synchronization across platforms and devices, which can occasionally be delayed or imperfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that it auto synchrinizes to the cloud where it can be seen by others with access. Anotations allow people to see what has been contributed by others.
I like how a teams document is a living document that grows. Its not a stale text document that outdated the moment it is created. Search function is excellent.
I also like the shortcuts that can be shared within the documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Office 365 OneNote addresses the issue of requiring a good storage location and access control. Prior to cloud, OneNote needed folder permissions for admission control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So I have used several organisational apps. I've paid for them and grown frustrated with the extra costs. Microsoft one note alleviated all of that. You can create templates and various formulas to stream line your productivity. Project management? No issue. Manuscript planning and dissection? No problem. Best thing ever . I wish you could download more templates but I created my own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OneNote, an integral component of the Microsoft 365 Suite, stands as a very good tool in my daily engineering works. Its capabilities offer value, versatile note-taking, planning, and organizating. With cloud integration and collaborative work becomes effortless. Additionally, OneNote facilitates diverse media integration, from handwritten notes and taking snapshots and orginizing them in different sections. This versatile platform transforms data management and fosters nice collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a bit frustrating when adding different texts, and try to organize them as onenote wont understand that you need to organize them in a certain way like word or excel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OneNote for me, has become the most valuable app in the entire Microsoft 365 Suite offering. I use this amazingly powerful app all day every day. It is well worth viewing a few YouTube videos on the incredible array of built-in features. You will find fantastic organizing and time-saving uses that will truly surprise you. First this is a one-stop for all notes, thoughts and planning organization. I create a "Notebook" for each organization or major project. Then "Folders" for each ongoing topic, and within the folders "Pages" for notes. The pages can be organized in an outline style with indented subpages to better organize conversations, plans, ideas, activity. This can be stored in the cloud and accessed on any Apple or Android device as well as PC, and all synchronize for simultaneous use! OneNote is on my iPhone, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung Tablet, Dell laptop, MacBook & Desktop PC and all share the same information and notebooks.
You can hand write text and convert to fonts, make drawings, record both audio and video and embed in any page. For example, you can place a mic and or cameera in a conference room and record the entire meeting.
OneNote links with all other Microsoft Office apps and you can embed Word, Excel, Publisher files and more into OneNote. You can email pages or clips or provide access to the entire notebook to others for collaboration. You can insert virtually any file including PDFs, images, video, audio and even program files into any page. There is a Translation tool that can translate text or a full page. You can perform both screen clipping and screen recording. There is a Transcribe tool that not only converts speech to text, but can also take a search term and point to the appropriate place in the recording. You can have multiple authors and quickly locate items by author. Each page can be custom formated with templates for a variety of different uses. The layout is customizable for location of page & folder tabs as well as toolbar selections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OneNote automatically saves each notebook by default in OneDrive locations that over time can vary. I have multiple OneDrive accounts due to business and personal Office and email accounts and knowing which one to look for when opening notebooks can require a bit of research. However, you can move the files to a preferred location. Over time as the product expands and grows I've found little to complain about! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about OneNote is how easy it is to use compared to other apps, where you might need to watch a tutorial to fully understand all the options. Also, I love that with OneNote, I can easily access my notes anywhere using just my Microsoft account. I use it to store important notes, business plans, and to keep vital information organized. I've been using OneNote for what feels like forever, and I honestly don't have any complaints. The interface is simple and easy to understand. It's pretty straightforward, and I've never encountered a complication while using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is not much to dislike about Microsoft OneNote, we always had a great experience and found the app to be more than useful. If I still have to pick a negative point- while using basic features is easy, but it might need some education to use OneNote to its fullest potential Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OneNote keeps us organized and allows us to keep all of our meeting notes and brainstorming in one place no more searching through people's hard drives or other storage locations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime bringing in the meeting details is a little glitchy I wish they would make this a smoother addition Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the fact that they make my life easier my organising my tasks and keep my board clean. I can separate my priority task from the rest with colours and also separate them by priority. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We needed a space to create forms and share them via email to make it easy to collect information from clients.
It's keeping everything organized for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When we try to send our notes via email in a PDF format, if would not keep the information in the right place. So it takes us longer because we have to do it manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This can be touted as the-best notes app especially if you're into Microsoft Surface devices ecosystem. Like in my case scenario I use the Surface Pro 8 along with my Surface Duo and a common slim-pen between both the devices. If you love wrting with a pen you won't find anything better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every software has some or other drawbacks or flaws, but one of which I really like improvement on is on the part of writing with pen. The strokes arent that smooth I mean there's still room for improvement. One of the best smooth strokes I found was with the notes app on Samsung with s-pen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One note is available across all the professional tools in Office 365 like microsoft Outlook and team used across in all meetings. One note is very useful with its ability to sync online at greater speed. It also has cool and detailed user interface and offers more options like adding sections and pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not have few options from Microsoft excel which can be added so that the numbers and data pasted or wrote in Onenote files can be counted easy. It does not allows screenshots to be pasted in some occasion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OneNote is a quick and easy way to stay organized across different projects and work flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To be honest there is nothing about the software that I do not like right now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Microsoft OneNote is a remarkable organizational tool that truly stands out. Its ability to create notebooks, sections, and pages makes it incredibly easy to store and organize my notes. Whether I'm jotting down quick ideas or working on complex projects, the flexibility and hierarchical structure of OneNote keep everything well-ordered and accessible. Another highlight is its cross-platform compatibility, enabling me to access my notes seamlessly from various devices like my Windows PC, Mac, iOS, or Android phone. This has been a game-changer for my productivity, allowing me to work on my notes wherever I am, ensuring I never miss out on any important ideas. Furthermore, the integration with other Microsoft Office applications is seamless, saving me time by effortlessly importing and exporting data between them. Lastly, the collaborative feature has been invaluable for group projects and team collaboration, as multiple users can work on the same notebook simultaneously in real-time. OneNote's versatility, customization options, and collaborative capabilities make it an indispensable tool for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Microsoft OneNote has many strengths, there are some areas that could be improved. The mobile app version of OneNote, while useful, lacks some of the advanced features found in the desktop version. This limitation can be frustrating when I'm on the go and need access to all the tools available on my computer. Additionally, OneNote has a steep learning curve, especially for new users. With so many features and customization options, it can be overwhelming to get started. Some users might find it challenging to make the most out of the software without investing significant time in learning its intricacies. Another drawback is the limited export options. OneNote doesn't offer many choices for exporting notes to other applications or platforms, making it difficult to seamlessly transition my work into other tools. Furthermore, maintaining formatting consistency across different platforms or devices can be problematic, as sometimes the formatting may change when notes are viewed elsewhere. Lastly, storing data on Microsoft servers might raise data security and privacy concerns for some users. While Microsoft has taken steps to ensure security, some individuals may prefer a more localized and private storage option for sensitive information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to upload documents and files for my students to access at home or during class so they can save paper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it can be difficult to navigate, especially when trying to help 30 students find the right folder and document to access. The tabs can be tricky to navigate for some. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Microsoft OneNote is an incredibly useful note-taking and data organisation application. Its intuitive interface makes it easy to use, while its various features, such as creating categories to better organise your possessions, linking web pages between documents for seamless navigation, or combining multiple search results into a single document, provide immense utility. What's more, you can create notes within the same note page - although only one at a time - but when you edit such a previously saved note, both names (yours and the original author's) will be included in recognition of this update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find that Microsoft OneNote has only one problem - the difficulty of exporting documents. If I need to send a note for account migration, for example, I must create and send a huge PDF instead of sharing the entire document. Since I had to do this, I'm not particularly upset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the continuity that I can have across devices and ease of access of information about the projects I work on a daily basis. The ability to embed speadsheets and diagrams is also great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The text input with Apple pencil, specially the handwritten to type recognition could be improved for a better experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best note-taking tool is OneNote, which is also the easiest to access from your laptop screen and has a fantastic user interface. It has a lot of room and is spacious. One can efficiently utilize headings and headers, write whatever they want, highlight the text, and, most importantly, look wonderful to look at it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing about the product bothers me; I merely adore it. It is included in the product line. The most excellent part is that your various notes can be found in one location. It is necessary for your everyday work, and you may quickly return to it when you need to look something up for the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most about Microsoft OneNote is how I can share notes with family and friends. I also love Microsoft one note because it allows me to keep track of my notes, and I can check them anywhere using Microsoft Office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about Microsoft Onenote is the lack of advanced formatting options. While does offers basic formatting, it doesnt have as many features as some other note-taking/ word proccesing application Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
