Increased gastrin secretion and acid output with defective gastric emptying mechanism predispose to
gastric ulcer. Lower post prandial pepsin secretion, raised serum PG2 and low PGI/PG2 ratios are considered as risk factors for developing a peptic ulcer.
The criteria for successful outcome were as follows.10 Treatment was considered successful if bleeding absolutely stopped within 72 hour after treatment,
gastric ulcer completely disappeared, or scar appeared.
As shown in Table 1, the sham group showed no ulcer index, and administration of BA-Zn at doses of 3.25, 6.5, and 13 mg/kg decreased the
gastric ulcer index to 24.94 [+ or -] 2.00 (P < 0.05), 18.43 [+ or -] 1.11 (P <0.001), and 15.00 [+ or -] 1.44 [mm.sup.2] (P <0.001) (12.0%, 35.0%, and 47.1% protection, respectively), compared to the ulcer index of the model group which was 28.35 [+ or -] 3.27 [mm.sup.2].
The aim of this study is to review the efficiency of subcutaneous heparin solution injections to improve the venous congestion and hence the outcomes and survival of distal digital replantation in patients who cannot tolerate systemic heparin due to associated comorbidities like
gastric ulcers, varices, or haemorrhoids.
It is used to predict the risk of re-bleeding and mortality and is known to have a stronger association with
gastric ulcers compared with duodenal ulcers.
However, the above reason does not explain the non-decline of
gastric ulcer prevalence in this study.

As shown in Table 1, of the total 70 cases, 39 cases of chronic superficial gastritis, 9 cases of
gastric ulcer, 9 cases of adenocarcinoma, 8 cases of nonulcer dyspepsia, and 5 cases of atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia were observed.
