THE days of the cassette tape are doomed, it was predicted yesterday, after a major electrical retailer announced it was pressing the eject button on sales.
The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) recently announced that on March 27, 2007, the CNIB Library will cease circulation of books on cassette tape, the final step in its two-year transition from offering Talking Books on audiocassette to those on CD in DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) format.
