How and when the designation "Palestine" (i.e.,
Philistia) came to be used for the Land of Israel is a vexed question.
A more appropriate comment on Alex Salmond was written by Idris Davies, about Saunders Lewis, almost 80 years ago, who "Roused his land, by word and deed, Against
Philistia and her more".
