Marcie's Trailer

"We all know that Ed's is not just a bar, it's our home. And what do you do when your home is threatened? You come together and you stick up for what you love." Gravitas has debuted an official trailer for an indie film titled Marcie's, a reference to the main character's dream to run her own bar called Marcie's Tavern. The film is premiering in early April, then it will be on VOD just after that. Marcie has a dream: to own Ed's Tavern, where she bartends and is a den mother to a devoted small-town community. But when a developer sets his sights on Ed's wooded land, Marcie's future is upended. As she rallies her people, she finds that an endangered bird may hold the key to preventing the loss of the tavern and saving her community. Filmed in North Bend and Seattle, this off-beat dramedy from director John Helde features an all-Washington state cast and crew. Starring Jenn Ruzumna, Miski Farah Ali, Reginald André Jackson, Ryan Sanders, Aaron Blakely, & Alycia Delmore. Well this looks sincere and wholesome, a nice little film about a bar.

Marcie Wood's (starring Jenn Ruzumna) dream is about to come true: in a few months she will own Ed's Tavern, where she's a bartender and a den mother to a tight-knit community of regulars. With just a few payments left, she dreams of not only running the local tavern but also starting a family with her partner, Murph. She enlists her friend Russell, a budding stand-up comedian, to host open mic nights, and Sophie, a young political operative, to build social media buzz. But newcomers threaten to upend Marcie's dream. Marcie's is written and directed by American indie filmmaker John Helde, director of the films Made in China, Phoebe's Father, and Brown's Canyon previously, plus a few other short films. It's produced by Beth Farnham and John Helde. This will premiere at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle coming up this April. Gravitas will then debut Marcie's direct-to-VOD starting April 29th, 2025 this spring. Anyone interested?
