Viv Clifton is an Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle consultant, trained counsellor, and nutritionist. Her and her family follow the Ayurvedic way of life. She also runs meditation teacher training courses and Ayurveda retreats in Cornwall, UK. Her mission is to de-mystify Ayurveda and make it more accessible to everyone not just those travelling to India.
In this episode Viv explains how Ayurveda can help you reach optimum health, and that food is only a small part of Ayurveda and she talks about what else makes up the Ayurvedic way of life. She talks about what the doshas are in Ayurveda and how to identify yours. She also discusses how analysing our stools can be used as a health check tool. She talks about detoxing and gut health and explains that a healthy person should be able to eat anything without getting symptoms and that food intolerances are more to do with the state of our gut. She gives her top tips on how to heal a leaky gut. Did you know that hand sanitisers are bad for our health?
