For the anglers looking for a Gulf Shores surf Fishing Report, Gulf State Park pier fishing report, Orange Beach Fishing Report and Fort Morgan fishing report, look no further than the Alabama Saltwater Fishing Report. Every week we bring you an "onshore" report for those anglers interested in a gulf shores surf fishing report or a gulf shores pier fishing report. This week we're talking to Capt. Matt Swiggum  who is giving us the Alabama Fishing report all the way from the Flora Bama to Fort Morgan. Listen in to get the story of Capt. Matt;s 30+ inch Speckled Trout! Here is a recap from Salty Swiggs Facebook Page: Dirty 30 Club! Fish of a Lifetime! February 25, 2023 @ 1pm I was able to catch and release my new PB #speckledtrout 30” and 9lbs! This is a catch that I will never forget. I have been targeting big trout now for almost 2 years now and never expected to knock this fish off the bucket list that quickly. Big trout 30+” are a rare specimen and only occupy 0.5% of the entire fish population. So catching a big trout in any manner is something special, but when you do it INTENTIONALLY on your favorite Pure Flats Slick Lure that you customized it’s on a level of its own. The fight was amazing burning drag, digging hard and the whole time I’m thinking it’s probably a nice redfish…but if it’s a trout! Sure enough she didn’t let me see her until the end and when her head popped up I knew she was a giant. I finally netted her after a fight of about 2min, which felt closer to 20min. The size of her was mind blowing and didn’t hit home until she was in my lap. Her mouth was so big I could put my fist in it! I then quickly took a selfie and a few board pics and got her back in the water to start reviving. As I swam her next to the kayak I could tell she was in good shape, so I popped a tag in her and had my buddy snap a few quick pics before I released her. Seeing her swim off couldn’t have been anymore rewarding!!! Thanks to everyone that reached out to say congratulations, and thanks to all my friends for the knowledge and encouragement targeting these beautiful fish! I’m truly humbled by this experience and it has been one of the greatest accomplishments of my life! Y’all Stay Salty!! For our guys looking for the Dauphin Island inshore fishing report or the Orange Beach Inshore Fishing Report, INSERT CAPTAIN NAME HERE has what you need to know to catch more speckled trout, redfish, and tripletail and how to catch each of these species in the area. The tactics and tips we discuss here each week can be applied to many areas when fishing Alabama's coast and other states along the Gulf of Mexico. Blane Roberts-Perdido Blane gives us the run down of the spring pompano run for the Gulf Coast and what to expect, how to set up and how to be successful with pompano and other species like Spanish Mackerel and redfish. For the Alabama Fishing Report offshore and the Gulf fishing report, tune in for this week's report with Capt. Adam Peeples. You never know what you might get in the offshore Gulf Fishing report each week. We cover nearshore fishing from Captain's running center consoles and fishing for red snapper, grouper, triggerfish, king mackerel, cobia, and more. When we head to blue water, we have contributions from some of the best Captain's on the tournament circuit and off who fish for tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi, and billfish. This week with Capt. Adam we talk about live baiting big mahi mahi, deep dropping for Swordfish and how to have success while fishing for pelagics this time of year. It's all brought to you whether it's good, bad, or ugly.
