Episode 30: The Future of Long Island's Environment and Economy Paul Boyce, President and CEO of PWGC, sits down with Matt Cohen, President & CEO of The Long Island Association, with assistance from Charlie Bartha, Sr. Vice President of PWGC, to discuss the future of Long Island's economy as it relates to the environment. Matt talks about his vision for the LIA and how they aim to solve many of Long Island's pressing issues.
Prior to being named president of the LIA Matt served as its Vice President of Government Affairs & Communications for 10 years. In that role, he was the chief lobbyist for the LIA. He has also had successful stints at the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) and was Long Island Director for United States Senator Charles Schumer. Matt has also worked as an aide in the Suffolk County Executive’s office. Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in History (with a concentration in American History) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law. He was admitted to the bar in New York State in July 2012.
