About this ebook

The Nature of Things Physical and Spiritual is a philosophical treatise on the foundations of humanity, our position in the universe, and the world around us. Combining history, astronomy, and religious doctrine from Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, The Nature of Things provides tangible explanations for phenomena unseen and delves into the most pressing of metaphysical queries. Where did we humans come from? How was our universe made? Is there life after death? How can we be happy with our life here on Earth? For those who often find themselves staring up into the stars and daydreaming about the creation of the cosmos; for those who love to skip past small talk and dive into the deep conversation right away, The Nature of Things provides a brain-tingling and well-researched exploration.

    CHAPTER ONE

    OUR UNIVERSE

Two of the greatest minds of our recorded history said,

Jesus: The kingdom of God is within us.

Einstein: We have access to most of the answers of our universe.

Both very powerful statements; apparently they thought very highly of us. They thought that we are very special and yes they were right, we are very special indeed, we are second to none. We are all part of what we call homo sapiens species. The name is Latin for wise man. We are the jewel of the Earth, we are the jewel of the solar system.

This book contains information from the old and from the new about the physical and the spiritual aspects of us and also about the things around us. There are same old sayings, ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will open, when the student is ready the teacher, the knowledge will come, but only when the student is ready and that is so encouraging. All that requires is hard work, discipline, practice, and mostly lots and lots of patience.

In a clear night away from the city lights look up and we can see thousands of stars; they are all part of our own galaxy the Milky Way. We can also see other near galaxies. Andromeda is our neighbor and can be seen as a fuzzy light about the size of our own Moon. The Milky Way and Andromeda are the same type of galaxies and are about the same size. They can go as twins and they are having a date. They are planning to meet then unite, merge in the very distant future.

Thanks to our technology that has come a very long way, has just exploded in the last two hundred years and there is an explanation for that, we can now look at our universe through the big eyes of our telescopes. We can see almost 14 billion light years away, of course in the past, that is how long it takes for the light to reach us at about 187,000 miles per/sec. That is almost as far as our physical universe will allow us to see. We call that the observable universe.

Now let us see where we are located in this very large universe of ours in which we reside. We are the residents of a rocky planet we call Earth. Earth is a sphere with a diameter of about 7,922 miles. Earth rotates on its axis which takes about 24 hours and lies on average of about 93 million miles from our star, which we call Sun. By the way, our planet rotation is slowly slowing down. Earth orbits the Sun at about 19 miles per/sec. in an elliptical like orbit which takes about one year to complete. Earth is located in the habitable zone of the solar system where the conditions allow life to flourish. Life is everywhere on Earth.

Earth has a satellite we call Moon, which has a diameter of about 2,157 miles, lies about 240,000 miles from Earth and orbits the Earth at about 2,300 miles per hour which takes about 28 days. The Moon is slowly moving away from Earth at about one and a half inches per year. The Moon does not rotate on its axis so we see only one side of the Moon. Having the Moon is very important, very critical. Let’s just say that the Moon keeps the Earth balanced.

Our star is almost a perfect sphere with a diameter of about 867,000 miles and rotates on its axis which take about 29 days to complete. We are using the Sun, our star, as a standard unit to measure most of the objects in our universe. The Sun lies at the center of the solar system which contains nine planets and endless other objects. They all rotate around the Sun at various speeds, distances and orbits.

The solar system is nearly a flat disk with a diameter of about 100,000 AU. One AU is the distance from the Earth to the Sun. The Sun has a gravitational pull of about two light years. One light year is the distance the light travels in one year at about 187.000 miles per/sec. The solar system is cocooned into a bubble known as the heliosphere which protects it from interstellar gas, dust and everything else that might be lurking out there in the interstellar medium. The solar system is located on a minor arm, the Orion arm of our galaxy the Milky Way at about 27,000 light years away from the center of our galaxy and rotates around the galaxy at about 157 miles per/sec. It takes our solar system about 230 million years to make a full trip around our galaxy. So far our solar system has made about 22 trips around the Milky Way.

The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy, contains around 500 billion stars, and has a central bar about 25,000 light years in length with one end nearly pointing right at our solar system. The Milky Way has two major arms which extend from each end of the bar, Sagittarius arm and Perseus arm, and four minor arms, Norma arm, Centaurus arm, Cygnus arm and Orion arm in which our solar system is located. The structure of the Milky Way is shaped like a disk which is about 122,000 light years wide and about 1,000 light years thick and has a bulge in the center of about 9,000 light years across. At the center of the bulge lies a supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A, which weighs around five million solar masses and is about 15 million miles in diameter. Sgr. A is the core of our galaxy and everything in our galaxy rotates around its core, around this supermassive black hole.

In space there are no clockwise or counterclockwise rotations; there is no up or down, left or right. It all depends on how you look at it, or from what direction you are looking at it.

The Milky Way is part of the local group of around 67 galaxies which extends some three million light years across. The Milky Way and Andromeda are the biggest galaxies in the local group and are located at the center of the local group. The local group lies on the outskirts of the Virgo supercluster which contains millions of galaxies and extends about 172 million light years across. The Virgo cluster lies at the center of Virgo supercluster, contains about 2,000 galaxies and is pulling our local group towards it at about 500,000 mile per/h.

The Virgo supercluster is being pulled at an incredible speed of about nine million mile per/h. towards a mysterious, gigantic, unseen mass called the Great Attractor. The Great Attractor is located in a huge void which is about 250 million light years away from the Milky Way in the direction of constellations Hydra and Centaurus.

But the latest discoveries have shown that we might be going past the Great Attractor towards an even more massive region called Shapley supercluster. Shapley supercluster lies about 500 million light years away, is located behind the Great Attractor and is about five times more massive than the Great Attractor. So far the Shapley supercluster is the most massive structure in the observable universe topping the list of about 222 known superclusters. However, there may be something even more massive behind Shapley supercluster; we just cannot detect it just yet.

And finally the picture of our universe is being depicted pretty accurately by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe; basically our universe looks like an egg. The size and shape of our universe will keep changing by expanding and contracting in its own stages of evolution. Inside, our universe looks like a spider web which is rotating around its center. The center is composed basically of primordial soup and gravity and is located in what we call a huge void.

Our universe is very active, very vibrant. There is so much energy, everything is moving and changing and is never the same. It’s very important to remember that our universe is never the same. The great yogi and one of the greatest minds of our recorded history, Adi Sankara, who lived in ancient India said it so eloquently, The physical world is not real because it’s always changing and something that it’s always changing cannot be real, it’s more like an illusion.

Ok, at this point having covered so much in so little space, let’s go back and start at the beginning, with the creation of our universe, because our universe is just one of the many universes out there. The universes are all different, they all have their own stages of evolution, they expand and contract, and just like our universe they are always changing. They are driven by similar or different forces.

All universes come from one place. Here I would like to quote a great thinker, Wayne Dyer, who calls that place the Source. The Source is the core of everything. The Source is everything, is the home base, is the true, the original Heaven, is what we call spiritual, but actually the Source is much, much more than that. It’s way beyond that.

The Source, Heaven, cannot be described through the usage of our physical language, so the most honest way to describe the Source is to call it, It or That. All I know is that everything comes, originates from the Source and also that everything goes, ends up back at the Source and that is all we really need to know.

The universes are created for many reasons. There is a definite purpose, definite logic beyond them, they function in their own time and in their own space, independent of others. All the universes are created from a substance primordial soup, let’s call it prime soup, along with the universal force gravity. All the energy needed for any universe originates in prime soup and in the gravity.

The prime soup is not physical, has only universal properties and none of its own. It’s completely neutral and interacts only with gravity and through gravity. The prime soup can be converted into any kind of matter that will be chosen for that particular universe, based on its purpose, and can be converted back to its original form. Since all the universes are different, the amount of prime soup and gravity available, given to any universe is directly proportional to the size, the purpose and the functions of that universe.

At the beginning of any universe, a percentage of the prime soup given will be converted into the kind of matter chosen for that universe and more will be converted as needed or can be taken away. At the end of any universe, all the prime soup converted into matter will be converted back into prime soup. Nothing is ever lost.

All the universes are born from the Source. They go through their own stages of evolution which are based primarily on their purpose, their functions, after which they will end and will go back to the Source, exactly the same way they come out. Nothing is ever lost.

Gravity is the only force that is universal, is present in every universe and is the most important, the most powerful force there is. Gravity controls the size and the shape of the universe and everything, anything within the boundary of that universe stays within that universe. Nothing, not even the smallest particle with or without mass, physical or not physical, will escape the tight grip of gravity.

Gravity has many functions and these functions may differ from universe to universe. Gravity also plays a major role in the internal functions of the universe. Everything and anything inside of any universe is subject to gravity.

The prime soup and gravity have universal properties; they interact with each other and they can accommodate for any kind of matter there is out there since all the matter out there is made up only from the prime soup.

Outside the boundaries of the universe the real void exists. There is nothing, absolutely nothing; there is no physical or spiritual space there.

Karma is one of the major reasons for the creation, for the purpose and the many functions of many universes including our universe. Karma cannot be described through the usage of our physical language. There are no accidents. Karma takes care of that. Everything happens for a reason. Karma takes care of that. Cause and effect, action and reaction, Karma takes care of that. Everything happens in the order, in the way it is supposed to happen. Karma takes care of that, keeps track and has a record of everything, absolutely everything from the beginning to the end. Karma takes care of that. These are only a few examples of what Karma does, but they do not even scratch the surface. The totality of it all is endless. Karma is completely unbiased and neutral, but has a job to do.

Before our universe was created, an entity emerges inside of the Source. Let’s call this entity the Creator. The Creator also cannot by described through the usage of our physical language. The reasons, the purposes and the functions of our universe are known by the Creator so the first thing the Creator does is to bring forth Karma for our universe.

Karma will continue to exist independently throughout the life of our universe. Even the Creator cannot change it, or end its existence. What the Creator can do is to make small changes. The Creator can also make the necessary adjustments within Karma based on the stage of evolution our universe is in. The Creator can also bypass Karma.

Second, the Creator brings forth the prime soup and the gravity needed for our universe. There are two major forces, laws that govern most physical universes including ours, the physical law and the biological law. To receive the desired outcome for any universe, these laws, these forces have to be fine-tuned by the Creator to perfection. So the Creator creates and fine-tunes these laws these forces for our universe and for its Karma.

The physical law is a force, intelligence, which will be present throughout our physical universe. It’s designed to start, to run and to end our physical universe. It’s the foundation from which the endless physical laws and processes that will follow, originate and will set the patch our physical universe will follow. Let’s call this law mass intel.

The biological law is also a force, intelligence which will be present throughout our physical universe. The biological law is designed to take the elements that mass intel will create and combine them in such a way that under the right conditions and processes life will be created and will start and life in our physical universe will be born. It’s the foundation from which the endless biological laws and processes that will follow originate and will set the patch our biological universe will follow. On Earth there were, are and will be many, many forms of life and in a physical universe as big as ours I cannot imagine what this intelligence can do. Let’s call this law bio intel.

Third the Creator brings forth these two major laws, mass intel and bio intel and fine-tunes them to perfections for our universe after which they are added to the mix. At this point we have the Creator, Karma, the prime soup, the mass intel, the bio intel and with the gravity holding everything together our universe was just created.

What is about to happen next, I would like to describe something like this, One of the gates of Heaven has just opened up and our universe is coming out with a bang, our universe was born, happy birthday. If we could watch this event we would see our universe materializing, coming out of nothing at an incredible speed and expanding at an incredible rate.

Our universe is out of the Source and is glowing in this beautiful rainbow-like light. This light is of course not a physical light; our physical universe was not created yet. This light is a spiritual light. This light comes from the Source, this is the light that lights up the Source and also this light will light up the spiritual dimensions in most universes. This light is intertwined throughout our universe and also this light is surrounding our universe. There is nothing beyond it. This light will be present throughout the whole life of our universe.

Our universe is just a baby now, who will mature into a big, strong and powerful universe. Our universe will go through its own stages of evolution and then will grow old and will end. Our universe will be going back to the Source because nothing dies, nothing is ever lost.

At this point our universe is out of the Source and it’s starting to go through its own stages of evolution. Our universe will be going through a vacuum shaped like a donut which will be ending up back at the Source at the someplace where it started from.

This event I like to describe something like this, The same gate of Heaven that first opened up allowing our universe to be born is opening up again, but this time to allow our universe to get back into Heaven. If we could watch this event, we would see our universe coming at an incredible speed and shrinking at an incredible rate and then vanishing into nothing, disappearing. So I can say that our universe could not have had a better beginning, a better life and a better ending, all and all it is a beautiful process.

Once out of the Source, our universe will keep expanding to a predetermined size, while inside mass intel is starting to create the right conditions from which our physical universe will be born. Let’s call our physical universe Maya.

Our universe will go through four major stages of evolution, the first one is the longest, then each stage following will be shorter. Every one of these stages have specific purposes and functions to perform which are known only by the Creator. Karma also will be a bit different for every one of these stages.

At the beginning of each stage our universe will grow, expand and it’s getting ready to perform the functions needed for that stage. At the end of each stage our universe will shrink, contract. It’s reaching the end of one stage and has to get ready for the next stage. In between stages something happens, an event that signifies the crossing from one stage to the next. In our universe the event at the crossing from stage one to stage two was energy; from stage two to stage three was air; from stage three to stage four will be water; and stage four will end with fire.

While all this is happening, the Creator is watching and making small adjustments, except in between stages where the adjustments have to be bigger because the outcome for each stage is different.

We find our universe right now to be somewhere in the middle of the third stage still growing, expanding. Our universe will go through the four stages of evolutions, and at the end of the fourth stage our universe will keep contracting, converting all the matter created for Maya back into prime soup. Nothing is ever lost. Our universe will keep contracting to a very small size, the same size our universe was at the beginning.

Still glowing in the beautiful rainbow-like spiritual light, our universe will be completely still, quiet. Our physical universe, Maya, will have vanished, disappeared. All that is left are the two major laws, the prime soup, gravity, Karma, the light and of course the Creator.

That is when the Source will open the same gate that first opened up to let our universe out. Mass intel, bio intel, the prime soup, gravity, Karma, the light along with the Creator will be taken back into the Source. First, the two major laws, the mass intel and the bio intel, will go back to their own home base. Next, the prime soup and gravity will also go back to their own home base. And lastly, Karma will also go back to its own home base, while the light and of course the Creator will merge back with the Source, will go back to Heaven.

I think it will be such a privilege, such an honor, so wonderful for some of us to accompany the Creator into Heaven, to go back home. While the others, the rest of us
