About this ebook

A family gets tricked into a massive debt to a ruthless gangster. The only solution they have is a suspiciously timed coupon for an "all-inclusive holiday" in… Transylvania Inn!
So, a cat-and-mouse game begins.

Winners and losers. Lovers and haters. Friends and foes. People who try to improve their lives and change the world.

And the question: Do we have any control over our fates or does God play dice with our lives?

I had an illuminating personality, which illuminated no one. […]  Until last year I endeavoured to blind my eyes by your pedantry to the truths of life. But now—Oh, if you only knew! If you knew how I lie awake at night, heartsick and angry, to think how stupidly I have wasted my time when I might have been winning from life everything which my old age now forbids.

    Anton Chekhov, Uncle Vanya

    SCENE 1

(Early evening. Summertime. The living room of JOSHUA's apartment. There is a couch, and a couple of armchairs. Next to the sitting area, there is a central door leading to the rooms inside. The left one-third of the stage is the kitchen, with a table, 3 chairs and a refrigerator. JOANE is lying on the couch playing with her phone. JONATHAN is sitting relaxed, almost lying, in one of the armchairs, playing with his phone. JOSHUA is sitting at the kitchen table dealing with some paperwork. Somewhere in the sitting area there is a fan turned on.)

JOANE: I can't stand this heat!

JONATHAN: Joshua, I know we’re your guests, but we need a better fan.

(JONATHAN goes to the fridge and opens the door. The fridge is empty. He inserts his backside and changes positions.)

JOSHUA: (Focused on his work.) You’re my brother and Joane is my sister, and I’m happy with any suggestion you have.

JOANE: What are you doing? And why is the fridge empty? It’s your turn to do the shopping.

JONATHAN: I’ll do it later and I need to cool my… mind.

JOANE: Your mind is in your bum. LOL. You are so ridiculous.

(JONATHAN abandons his attempts and comes back to his first spot.)

JONATHAN: (Whispering to JOANE, but everyone can hear him.) Do you think we should tell him today?

    JOANE: Tell what? Shut up.

JOSHUA: (Still focused on his work.) You know I can hear you.

JONATHAN: Just saying you’re like a father-figure or something.

    JOSHUA: You're five years
