Cricut Design Space for Beginners - Clayton M. Rines

    Chapter One

    Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine

    T

he Cricut Explore Air 2 serves many purposes, including cutting, drawing, printing, writing, decorating, engraving, scoring, and scrapbooking. The machine uses a nifty score device, pens, and markers to score assignments, write, and draw.

As a cutter, it can be used as an electronic individual tool for cutting metal sheets, fabric, sticker paper, faux leather, cardstock, vellum, and a lot of other materials. It has a chain of rollers and a defined blade that can cut any material into any shape. It makes use of cartridges to cut out fonts and unusual, beautiful shapes.

Much progress has been made regarding the Cricut Explore Air 2; the machine now uses a series of cut files in place of the cartridges that were once used. There is now an available option of outlining and developing an assignment with the Cricut Design Space software. Then the material is set on a cutting mat before proceeding to verify the setting. It is also possible to upload the file you want to cut.

The evolution has also birthed a platform with simplified scoring, engraving, and drawing of several materials with mind-blowing precision.

    Accessory Clamp A

The accessory clamp A accompanies the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine as the accessory adapter. It is used to secure the scoring blades, and at the same time, the drawing pen can be passed through it.

The device's high speed can be exploited by choosing the Fast Mode when configuring the machine and the material placed between Cardstock and Vinyl.

The dial puts the settings of familiar materials on view, and there are several others in the design space. Set the dial to custom in your interest.

The Cricut Explore Air 2 machine consists of cartridge ports, which connect the Cricut account online to the cartridges. This connection, consequently, makes your images available to you on your device.

    The cutting mat

The cutting mat determines the placement of most materials in the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine, so this makes it the most important add-on of the machine. The cutting mat is fabricated with the intent of making it tacky on one side to ensure that material is in place during inking, cutting, or scoring.

There are three kinds of cutting mat; each one works well for different materials. In essence, the material you want to cut, score, or pass through any process will dictate the kind of cutting mat to use.
