ABOUT THIS WORKBOOK
There are two main categories of quizzes for each story. The first section quizzes you on vocabulary and kanji, while the second section focuses on reading comprehension and grammar. The exercises include matching kanji to readings, choosing the correct kanji, vocabulary fill-in-the-blank, and reading comprehension questions.

ABOUT HIKOICHI
This workbook quizzes you on the four entertaining stories about the legendary Hikoichi—a young man known for his wisdom and mischievousness.
In the first story, Hikoichi must determine which child is the true prince.
In the second, he outwits all the other retainers while enjoying hanami (cherry blossom viewing).
The third story features a mysterious, living umbrella.
The final story details Hikoichi's encounter with a Tengu and his special concealing straw raincoat.
