    Vouvant - Patrick. M. Kmn

    Part 1: Anathema

On a Tuesday evening , shrouded in a veil of clouds and a biting chill, Jesse, a man whose temper flared easily, entered the dimly lit pub. The air hung heavy with the murmur of conversation and the scent of stale smoke clinging to worn leather furniture. He navigated the room with a practiced eye, his gaze flitting across the faces of the patrons until it landed on a vacant stool nestled in a quiet corner. Briefly, his eyes met the cool stare of the bartender, a short, austere man with a mustache sculpted to razor-sharp precision, before sliding away.

He reached into the depths of his worn leather jacket, his fingers brushing against the familiar texture as they extracted a crumpled envelope. With a sigh that spoke volumes of his worries, he placed it on the counter, the worn paper rustling softly.

The bartender, meticulously polishing a glass with a rag that had seen better days, barely spared a glance at the envelope before inquiring, Is everything accounted for? His voice held a raspy edge, seasoned by years spent amidst the clamor of the pub.
