Introduction
Everything I want is everything I should have.
I am created by a higher power and I know the Woman I am.
I attract happiness and joy into my life.- Our West Nest
Manifesting for Black Women is a book that offers a unique perspective on the art of manifestation. It is a guide that is specifically written for Black Women, who have historically been marginalized and excluded from mainstream discussions about manifestation and spirituality. This is exactly why I felt the importance of writing this book at this time.
This book draws on the principles of the Law of Attraction, which states that our thoughts and emotions have a powerful influence on our experiences and outcomes in life. However, it goes beyond the traditional Western interpretations of this law, which often focus on individualistic goals such as wealth, success, and personal achievement. Instead, it explores how Black Women can use their unique experiences, histories, and cultural backgrounds to manifest their deepest desires and create a more fulfilling and abundant life.
One of the key concepts in this book is the Melanin Laws of Attraction, which recognizes the inherent power and magic of melanin—the pigment that gives color to our skin, hair, and eyes. Drawing on research from various fields, including epigenetics and quantum physics, I explain how melanin can influence our abilities to manifest, connect with the divine, and create positive change in the world.
Manifesting for Black Women encourages Women of color to embrace their melanin and use it as a source of strength and inspiration in their manifestation practices.
In addition to the Melanin Laws of Attraction, we will also explore the role of Divine African Spirituality in manifestation. This includes the practices of traditional African religions such as Yoruba, Vodun, and Santeria, which have been preserved and adopted by Black communities around the world.
I will show how these practices can be used to connect with the divine, access ancestral wisdom, and harness the power of the Orishas—the deities that represent different aspects of nature and human experience.
Through a combination of practical exercises, personal anecdotes, and spiritual insights, Manifesting for Black Women offers a comprehensive approach to manifestation that is grounded in the experiences and realities of Black Women. It covers a wide range of topics, including financial abundance, career success, romantic relationships, self-love, and spiritual growth. It also addresses some of the unique challenges and obstacles that Black Women may face in their manifestation journey, such as systemic racism, gender discrimination, and intergenerational trauma.
Ultimately, this book is a call to action for Black Women to reclaim their power and tap into the energy of abundance. It is a reminder that despite the systemic and societal barriers that may exist, Black Women have the ability to create their own reality and shape their own destiny. By tapping into the Melanin Laws of Attraction, Divine African Spirituality, and the Magic of the Orishas, they can access a deep well of resources and wisdom that can help them achieve their goals and dreams.
Manifesting for Black Women is not just a book about manifestation—it is a celebration of Black Womanhood and a testament to the resilience, strength, and beauty of Black Women. It is a guide that encourages Black Women to embrace their authentic selves, connect with their ancestral roots, and use their unique gifts and talents to make a positive impact in the world.
Whether you are a seasoned manifestation practitioner or a newcomer to the world of spirituality and personal growth, this book is a valuable resource that will inspire and empower you. It reflects the power of Black Women and is a reminder that when we come together in community and support each other, there is no limit to what we can achieve!
Chapter 1: Goal Setting and the Power of Words for Success
As a Woman of the 21st century, it pains me how far away we are from the reforms we started fighting for ages ago, how it is still so difficult for us to achieve success, and how the uphill battle continues with no plateau in sight.
Black Women juggle multiple responsibilities. From caregiving to managing the household and pursuing our careers, our to-do list often doesn't seem to come to an end. On most days, it may seem downright impossible to set aside time to focus on our own goals and dreams.
This is where goal creation comes into play. Goal setting is a crucial step towards making progress and finding fulfillment in the various areas of our lives.
Whether you want to go back to the gym to regain that youthful energy you once had before the kids, or to finally finish that degree, or something as simple as finishing that book that has been lying on the shelf for years—having a clear and definable goal is important if you wish to get anything done.
As a Black Woman, you most likely already spend so much of your time, energy, and devotion on other people and external activities that don’t necessarily further your own internal dreams. It is important to intentionally set out space and harness your energy for the advancement of all areas of your life if you are ever to feel balanced and fulfilled.
This chapter explores the importance of goal setting and the power of words from an African context.
Dream Journaling and Word Magic
CREATING YOUR OWN DREAMS and goals journal is an excellent way to start the journey towards manifesting your desires. In this journal, you can identify emotional, social, spiritual, and professional goals. By writing down your goals, you are making a commitment to yourself and the Universe that you are serious about achieving them.
Setting goals is only the first step to mapping out the life of your dreams. In order to achieve these goals, we must harness the power of language. I know this may sound a bit new agey
, but our ancestral mothers actually thrived off of the power of both the spoken and written word.
Writing down our goals and creating a plan of action helps to solidify them both in our minds and tangibly on paper—giving us a roadmap to follow. Speaking about our goals is also essential from time to time when done with the right people. The creative synergy of a dialogue with like-minded people who want the best for us not only
