About this ebook
What happens when the wolf wants to eat me?
It wasn't supposed to be this way. It was supposed to be a quiet night, one like any other, while looking after Master Frank's newborn.
And then it wasn't.
A demon beast, black as death, crashed into the mansion with a vengeance, making what I thought was only a horrid legend become my reality.
Now we're captive to the most sinister, foul beast imaginable with nothing to eat. The story goes about his eyes, ears, and teeth. But it never mentioned how big his hands were, or how reverent they could be. Somehow, I have to feed this child while keeping the dark desires growing within me at bay.
My mother never told me there'd be days like this.

Prologue
It is the howl that sends chills down my spine. The rattling of the double doors steal my breath as my heart beats out of my ribs. Grabbing the baby from the crib, I back up against the wall, hiding his little face against my chest. The darkness of nightfall brought with it the drop in temperature.
My habit makes me sweat as I crouch down in the darkest corner of the mansion, praying that whatever it is outside passes over us for something else.
Tales of the beast that haunts these lands run through my mind as I silently rock the baby in my arms, trying to keep him in his slumber.
Grab the pitchforks!
It’s trying to get inside!
What would you have us do, Master Frank?
the servants scream out as more howls pierce the air.

Ahhh!
The crash of wood makes me scream with the men. I quickly cover my mouth as my ears strain to listen to what’s happening.
The sound of growls, crunches, and snarls make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end as my eyes frantically look around for an exit. The windows are large and closed shut, the locks hard to maneuver with a baby in my arms.
A crash against the baby’s bedroom door and a snarl makes me jump in fright. My body is sweating from my fear of being trapped here with the little one. Suddenly, a claw splinters the wood. It’s dark, sharp, and coated with blood.
I no longer
