Foreword
Come with me on a spiritual journey into the heart of God. A journey that will lead you into an intimate relationship with Christ Jesus, the God of the Universe. On this journey, you will be challenged to draw closer to Him by recognizing His power and ability to woo you to Himself. What you have believed about God before may be questioned. But don’t despair! Trust in His perfect love that casts out all fear. He is your God, and it is in Him that you live, move, and have your being.
Your view of God may be challenged as you journey with me. I have certainly been challenged about what He has revealed Himself to me. Change is a threat to our beliefs but playing it safe keeps us in captivity. God has planned a great life for you. Will you live the life He has ordained for you? Are you willing to take risks? Get to know Him better? Embrace change? Do not let your fears keep you caged within a small life. Life is not about us. Open your heart to His matchless love.
The Burning Heart
The Moment God Becomes Real
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
(Genesis 1:1, KJV).
Have you ever wondered if God was real? That He actually exists. That He can speak to you and give you direction for your life? That He knew you from your mother’s womb and formed and shaped you, giving you specific talents, abilities, and personality, all of which come from His heart.
God speaks to us in various ways. He speaks mostly through the scriptures of the Bible, but He uses other means of communication as well because He knows the nature of humans that we are fearful of and often doubt His existence.
We are awed by the majesty of creation. The moon, the stars, the heavens above us stir our hearts, and we are thrilled by the grandeur of the mountains and valleys, the roaring of the ocean waves, and the unfathomable depths of the ocean floor, and the creatures of the sea who defy our imaginations.
Man has tried to claim that it is all about science, but in our hearts, we know that is not true. Science cannot disprove God’s existence. It can only reveal the elements that God used to create the world as we know it today.
God’s Word is what created our world. His Word is what holds it together!
By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth
(Psalm 33:6, AMP).
If you worry about the recent claims made by our government that the world is going to end in a few years, think again. The scriptures say otherwise:
"Tremble and reverently fear before Him, all the earth’s peoples; the world also shall be established, so it cannot be moved" (1 Chronicles 16:30, AMPC).
"The Lord reigns. He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is robed. He has girded Himself with strength and power; the world also is established that it cannot be moved" (Psalm 93:1, AMPC).
For the scoffers willfully overlook and forget this fact, that the heavens came into existence long ago by the Word of God, and the earth also which was formed out of water and by means of water
(2 Peter 3:3–14, AMPC).
Scoffers of God’s existence must learn that it is not by the wisdom of men that we live, but by God’s life in us
(Watchman Nee, Changed into His Likeness).
Do we realize that the glory of the world is the work of God’s hand?
How can we look at the stars and not realize that man could never have created such an awesome world? The Artwork of creation is beyond man’s ability. God’s creation speaks to us and reassures us that creation is a testimony of the truth of God’s existence.
For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him and in and for Him. And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together)
(Colossians 1:16–17, AMP).
Revelation Knowledge
Another Way That God Proves His Existence
For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet!
(Hebrews 4:12, TPT)
Revelation knowledge occurs when God reveals to our hearts and minds the reality of Himself. We suddenly know He is real and is speaking to us. Sometimes God speaks to us when we are in a church setting. When the minister stands up to speak, his words penetrate our hearts. Our hearts burn within us. We respond to the invitation to publicly acknowledge God’s work in our hearts. Our hearts are reborn. We are moved from death to life in Christ. No one sees God penetrate our hearts. It is a work that occurs inside of us. It is a revealing to us of God’s work in our lives. It is only by our testimony of the fact that it establishes that God touched us. Only the ones who are touched feel the reality of God’s hand upon them.
Yet, God’s touch is evident through the change we experience from receiving His touch. No one can explain how this happens. We just know that God has touched us, and we are transformed from the old self into a new one.
Therefore, if any person is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
(2 Corinthians 5:17, AMPC) The Word God speaks are creative words. Our words are also creative, for we are made in His likeness.
When responding to an altar call, realize that words are important, for it is by our words that we activate God’s salvation. We speak aloud to confirm God’s work
