About this ebook
There is only Delano and Bluebell, and sometimes the Delano Manor.
She was once a sweet girl, shrouded with innocence and gullibility. It's how Delano got to her, imprinted her soul with his possessiveness, and choked her with his obsessive tendencies.
She wasn't scared then, and she's not scared now.
She thinks he saw something in her before or after knowing that she wasn't afraid of him.
Today, Bluebell is not the sweet girl with fading innocence and skeptical naïveté.
She has changed; she likes the violence and the tickle in the back of her throat for blood.
One man, unfortunately, becomes the object of her irritation.
She blames Delano for the change.

Chapter One
___________
Bluebell
It starts with a buzz, then comes the soft murmurs of different vocal pitches.
I can only focus on one thing with my sluggish mind; sleep still clings between my eyelashes while I press my lips to the hot surface. It’s uneven yet moving with a steady tempo.
It’s a heartbeat.
A loud and robust sound that lures me deeper into my slumber. The ruffling around me holds onto the last shred of my consciousness as the noises become louder.
They’re voices.
I hear the voices of two men and two women having a conversation far too uninteresting for me to grasp the words.
Once the sleepiness starts to ebb away, I inhale deeply and sigh in annoyance. When one problem arises, ten more follow rather quickly.
If the noises weren’t a problem, the soreness in my lower back is something I would want to fix. Speaking of the lower back, my butt is aching with the feeling of tiny needles poking my muscles.
I lethargically open my eyes, and the tasteful piece of art hanging on the wall doesn’t scare me. It takes a moment to remember where I am as I shift the weight of my butt to ease the prickling feeling there.
I hate that sensation. Sometimes I wake up in bed with my arm under my head, lifeless and bloated with a tight feeling in my skin.
I usually have Daddy’s arm as my pillow, but he gets up before the sun even has time to greet the world. I don’t understand why he goes out of his way to wake up so early, but I guess it’s the only time he can get peace.
Running the Delano Manor is tiresome even if it brings in millions of dollars in one day. It caters to criminals, but only certain ones get to set foot in the door, and that is only if they meet three criteria.
They must be rich enough to pay the entrance fee and monthly membership dues.
They must provide proof they have killed three people as insurance against betrayal. Everyone’s going down with Daddy if anyone betrays him.
Third, they must be recommended by someone who has been a member for at least three years.
Three seems to be the pattern here, but I think it’s more of a coincidence than anything else. Daddy built this manor before I was on the scene, so I don’t know most of the things that happen behind the curtains.
Daddy tends to shield me from the dirty work and mind-wrecking things members say.
To some, I’m arm-candy for Daddy. I mean, they’re not wrong. But I hope they don’t let Daddy hear what they have to say. He doesn’t have much tolerance when it comes to me.
I like it when he’s angry; it makes me feel more loved by him.
—oh, you flatter me.
I blink at the voice and the fake laugh that follows. I forgot I’m still in the presence of many murderers, sitting around chatting with their fellow criminals as if this is a gathering of wealthy people.
Rich people with sick hobbies.
For as long as I have been exposed to this lifestyle, I have heard things I never thought possible. Not even human anatomy classes could teach me how to suck intestines out through belly buttons.
It was a peculiar experience when the infamous killer with that signature technique spoke so highly of the ancient Egyptian influence on his method of disposal.
I built my current residence with a mixture of finely-ground bones.
My attention goes back to the voice, and I already know what they’re talking about. It doesn’t take a genius to understand that the bones are from victims who have died at his hands.
I would love to visit one day,
a woman’s voice says with a wavering giggle.
I’m not positive if that’s her laugh or if she is nervous and doesn’t know what to say.
I would be concerned if I was her. I wouldn’t want to be breathing in bone dust while in a house, especially those of my victims.
Not that I have any victims. I would never kill anyone; it’s too much of a liability. I don’t have Daddy’s meticulousness in taking care of members who broke the rules.
Some broken rules can be marked down as indiscretions, but that depends on the circumstances and which rules were broken.
I tighten my lips as a yawn takes me by surprise, and I turn my head away from the wall. Daddy’s arm stays firmly around my waist, a sign of ownership in front of other influential people.
Everyone in the manor knows who I am. I didn’t exactly have a choice when Daddy implemented the rule to ensure every member knows me.
The standard rule in Delano Manor is to look, but never touch me.
I belong to Daddy. That hasn't stopped some foolish souls from trying. Accidents happen, and they are often just brushed off because Daddy’s not an unreasonable man.
I focus my attention on the faces in front of me when I turn and press my lips to his neck, arms looped around Daddy for support. His pulse under my lips doesn’t spike, but his arm tightens around me when my dress hikes up my naked thighs.
I like wearing dresses; they allow a lot of freedom and room to move around. I also don’t have to worry about unsolicited acts just because I’m wearing a dress. The only eyes I want on me are Daddy’s obsidian ones.
I couldn’t care less about how many people someone killed or how impressive they are to have avoided law enforcement for so long.
These people have never thought about how many bodies Daddy has tossed away.
My stomach rumbles, interrupting the quiet atmosphere as I sigh with frustration. Frankly, I don’t want to get up from Daddy’s lap. I’m too lazy, and the ache in my body has eased into a subtle hum.
Another growl breaks my resistance. I need food, and I need it badly. I don’t recall how long I have been sleeping after being bored into slumber by the prideful talk. It could be afternoon or early evening now.
I’m hungry,
I mumble, more to myself than Daddy as I maneuver off his lap.
I press my lips to his with a sleepy grin before prancing off to find the diligent Alfred. The man works for Daddy, and I swear on my life that his loyalty is stronger than anything I have ever seen.
If we weren’t in modern times, I would assume Daddy is an important man, and Alfred is the devoted butler.
Alfred’s job description is that of a butler, but it’s more than that. He oversees practically everything that goes down in Delano Manor and reports his findings to Daddy.
Miss Bluebell,
Alfred says from behind me.
My skin jerks in shock as I twirl around, eyes widened by his voice as I cough out the shuddering air in my lungs.
Alfred,
I breathe quietly.
His lips tug as he tips his head respectfully and asks, Is there anything I can do to be of assistance?
I pause awkwardly before nodding.
I’m hungry.
