The Sound of Silence - Susan O'Reilly

    Silence

    Your silence is provoking

    the emotions your evoking

    my anger is choking

    my pride I'm stroking

    Speak now or never

I'm not going to wait forever

    nonchalance may ties sever

    maybe your being clever

    Silence not always golden

    fills me with foreboding

    my bad side its goading

    come on, start scolding

    Silence is Golden

    Silence is golden

    but sometimes rotten

    retreat and haven of cowards

    their nose pointing skywards

    should leave their game-playing offside

sitting on the fence I can't abide

leaving things up in the air

    it’s not fair

    think their being clever

    but can friendships sever

    so, say your piece

    a stress release

there's nothing that can't be solved

    better than a relationship dissolved

    Selective

    You stand there, mute

    it’s no longer cute

    silence is your defence

    when you can't make sense

when you've run out of lies

you shut down, I now realise

before I thought it was shyness

now I know it’s a cover for slyness

    so, stand there, be quiet

    I bid our relationship, goodnight

    Real Friends

Real friends can sit in silence

    no need for conversation

    sometimes being quiet gives solace

    a loving observation

    A holding of a hand

    a meeting of minds

    a well-established bond

    two of a kind

    Happily, Silent

    I would like
