Spirit Filled Blessings

About this ebook
God's way is simple. What you are holding is a compilation of letters that have been sent many thousands of times to people of all spiritual backgrounds and cultural leanings. It is a gateway into a deeper connection with your heavenly Father because it is an expression of the love relationship that He has with His children. This expression is found not only in the words that are written but also in the manifest willingness of the Father to partner with His children in writing them. He has demonstrated through this modest exercise in obedience that it is not through the wise, the mighty, and the noble that He furthers His Kingdom purposes on the earth. He rejoices, rather, in His love for His children and in our uncomplicated willingness to walk His path. "In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight" (Luke 10:21). As you meditate on this blend of Spirit-breathed words and earthen tones, allow yourself to drink deeply of the revelation of who God is with you. Allow yourself, if only briefly, to let go of the high expressions of what you feel is expected of you. Recline in the embrace of your Father, who delights in the expression of His love for you and through you.

Preface
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(2 Corinthians 4:7)
Our Father is so gracious in all that He does. Julie and I are just regular people who contend with our humanity like everyone else, yet the Lord has seen fit to flow through us in His Kingdom work. His kindness is immeasurable.
Our journey with this ministry of letters started in 2011 when Julie felt led to begin sharing the heart of God through writing scripture-based messages of hope and encouragement. She started by sending them to just a few people she had met and prayed for and also to her family. As she was faithful to pass on what the Lord had given her, He gradually expanded the depth and reach of His ministry through her, and it continues to grow. As she writes the letters and hands them off to me to edit and refine, we both sense a fresh breath of His Spirit pressing in upon each one. We believe it’s His desire to extend encouragement and exhortation through this simple process, and we encourage you to do the same. Each of us is called, in whatever way we are gifted, to extend the comfort and truth of scripture to other members of the Body of Christ. We hear enough voices (including our own) that would shake our confidence and erode our trust in the goodness and faithfulness of God. Speaking and expounding on the hope of scripture with each other is a refreshing remedy to the many disparaging words we hear throughout our walk in this world. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, ‘The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.’ For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we, through patience and comfort of the Scriptures, might have hope
(Romans 15:2-4). Why not sit down today and prayerfully write a scripture-based letter of encouragement to send to those in your circle of influence? It’s such an easy thing to do, and you may be surprised to find that the Spirit of the Lord is present and active in it. What if we all sought Him to give us insight into how we could build up the Body of Christ? Can you imagine how His Kingdom would grow in the hearts and lives of His people if each of us became a conduit of His life? But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love
(Ephesians 4:15-16).
I have seen the Kingdom of God advance dramatically through the simple act of writing Spirit-filled blessings. Julie’s genuine, tender-hearted concern for God’s people has been an inspiration and a blessing to everyone around her, including me. Everywhere she goes, she carries stacks of letters to offer with her signature question: Would you like some blessings?
We hope this little book stirs you to seek the Lord as to how He would have you to minister something of His Spirit and His Word to those around you. It’s also our prayer that some of the words in this book would find a home in your heart and that our Father would use them to reveal something of Himself to you.
In Christ,
Michael Battaglini
Blessings to you, my brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 69:1-3
Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing. I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying. My throat is dried. Mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
Today’s Message: Struggles Within the Storm
Why is it that sometimes when we’re hurting we lose sight of hope? We must turn to God in times of crisis. No matter what security measures are in place, He is the only assurance we have. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain
(Psalm 127:1). He is always watching over us, and we’ll find refuge as we turn to Him and trust in His protection and guidance.
