You are in a psychiatric hospital and are considering psychotropic medications for the first time.
The First Question you should ask is, what are my treatment choices?
Treatment of mental illness includes individual and group psychotherapies.
The most effective psychotherapy is Cognitive Behavior Therapy in my opinion.
There are also Aerobic and other exercises, meditation, spiritual and religious therapies, faith healing, home remedies, hypnosis, psychosurgery, electromagnetic treatments, milieu therapies in hospitals, and a variety of nonscientific treatments.
This book will examine psychiatric medications, psychotropic medications.

The Second Question you should ask, what are the risks and benefits of psychotropic medications?
The risks of psychotropic medications are listed on the FDA Labels for the medications.
The FDA Labels for psychotropic medications can be found on the internet.
Also, your pharmacist will give you a written list of medication side effects with your prescription bottle of pills.
There are literally hundreds of potential side effects for each psychiatric medication.
