About this ebook
A cottage in the woods. Rumours of a witch. And two curious teenage girls, eager to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Vesta-Ora and her adopted sister Eve live at 2b Bubblewood House. They live a typical family life, doing everything that girls of their age do. But the stories about the cottage and its occupant will never go away.
When the time came for the two girls, Vesta and Eve to do a school project which involved doing a detailed analysis on a building of their choice, they decided to do it on the cottage as an excuse to learn the truth and meet the witch. But what they thought was the end of a lifetime of ifs and buts, actually led to a whole new world of possibilities.
Behind the door of the cottage lies a whole other world. But as the girls dig deeper, dark secrets from the past rise up to challenge what had begun to seem a delightful new adventure.

BUBBLEWOOD
Bryony Storm Dudley
Chapter One
Hello...
They say she feasts on children, they say she’s ruthless and cruel. They say she’s the face of vengeance itself. But is this true? Or could it be a simple misunderstanding and could she just be nothing but a lonely old lady seeking friendship and love? It’s said that she has been seen banqueting over young souls, taking pleasure in enduring the youthful screams of the luckless cherubs. But is this accurate? Or could there be a more bizarre explanation?
My name is Vesta-Ora Marshfield. I live in 2b Bubble-wood House. I moved from the other side of the wood, number one. We had to move because our old house had to be flattened for some reason. I think it was because the man who owns Bubblewood wanted to build a mill or something like that. Mum did tell me but I can’t quite remember. Anyway, I live with my mum, dad and my two older siblings, Oscar and Kristie. We also have a dog called Prince. He is the cutest most handsome creature. He has these little adorable perky ears and a coat as soft as winter’s snow. We have another addition to the family, this one not so fluffy. My mum adopted my best friend Eve a year ago, after her parents died. It’s so sad what happened to them. You see, her mum was a zoo keeper in the local zoo, and that day her dad had to do some volunteering for his CV. So, Eve’s mum said that he could do it there. Anyway, so there was this massive black panther and it basically went mad in the section of the zoo and this resulted in it killing her mum and it pushed her dad into a pond and he drowned. Eve still cries about it at night even now. I try to comfort her, but I think she just needs time. I’m just so lucky to have my mum and dad fit and healthy. My dad works as a builder, which is quite a dangerous job, but he has been building for all his life, so I don’t worry about him that much. My mum works in the summer as an event manager, which is cool because me and my friends often get into events for free.
Guys, dinner.
shouted Mum.
We all galloped down the stairs like a herd of ravenous elephants. Once we parked ourselves at the table, Kristie declared that she had an announcement to make.
Right everyone, I have something to tell you. One of my friends, Bella, said that there was an old woman walking around the house yesterday. Going by the name of ‘The S Flower...’
For the last time Kristie there is not a witch living in the cottage,
Mum claimed as she cut her off.
So, let me get you up to speed. There's a story about a witch who lives in the cottage, number 2a. It's said that she eats children and hunts down any living thing that dares to turn their head her way for just a split second. We all tease her for believing the stories. Although very few people are as gullible as to believe these tales, people do believe that there is a witch living there. And me, well I just think that a little old lady lives in a little cottage in the middle of the woods. People just assume, because it does sound like a very typical scenario.
Chapter Two
Sally Daisy...
Hey Eve, did you hear about that man who tried to work out the combination for our bridge? It’s the two year anniversary today.
I stated.
Oh do you mean the man who got pushed off the bridge by the police before I moved in?
she answered.
Yeah I think that's the man, although the police didn't mean to push him. Remember there was a big debate about it?
Ah yeah, I remember.
she said.
I don't think he deserved to die for trying to break in though, do you?
Uh yeah of course, he nearly broke in to our home, didn't it scare you?
she enquired.
Well yeah but we didn’t even live here then. I don't think he deserved that though.
Vesta, Eve? Do you know what building you're going to do your geography project on? You need to think about it?
quizzed Mum.
She was right, for geography we had to think of a building to
