This is a must read for those who hunger and thirst for more and more of the God life. Wanting and desiring to know who they are in Christ and becoming familiar with the tactics and strategies of the enemy to STOP the plan and purposes of God in our lives.

INTRODUCTION

In over three decades of my personal walk with Christ, prophetic prayer ministry and service to the body of Christ, I do not know of one single thing that has as much impact on the life and outcomes of a believer, as knowing who they are in Christ, walking in that reality, and having their identity, self-definition, and personal affirmation in Christ alone.

This is the one thing that guarantees and underlies victory for every Christian in their personal walk of faith, or conversely, spells doom and defeat when lacking or under developed. When a Christian gets a revelation of what it means to be a child of the Most-High God, it strengthens their resolve to win and empowers them to overcome sin, shame, guilt and condemnation. Knowing who they are in Christ breaks the power of addiction, low self-esteem and emotional bondage; and positions them for a winning walk. It powers and empowers their vision of the future.

A Christian who does not understand, embrace or walk in the reality of their identity in Christ will forfeit the abundant life Jesus purchased for them and live a life riddled with fear, defeat, sickness, poverty, mental and emotional bondage, and oppression.

When you know who you are in Christ, the devil can no longer intimidate, terrorize or bind you; sin can no longer be your master, and boss you around; chains that once held you captive have no option but to fall off, because you can no longer be bound; when you know, really know, believe, and appropriate the glorious truth of who you are in Christ! Knowing who you are in Christ is the single most liberating and empowering truth a Christian can embrace. It sets you on the trajectory to overwhelming victory!

This book makes a compelling case for our identity in Christ. CHAPTER 1

FABULOUS FORTUNES

In 2008, Eva Paole, a retired Argentine maid living in poverty, learned that she had inherited the whopping sum of $40 million. Unbeknownst to her, she was the daughter of baron Rufino Otero, who died in 1983 and had no children with his wife. Until then, Eva had thought that she was the daughter of her mother, Josefa, and her partner. Though her mother had never told Eva who her father was, she had heard rumors that she might be the baron’s daughter. Through research and talking to her mom’s friends and relatives, Eva came to believe that Rufino was her father, and took DNA tests which confirmed that she was indeed the daughter of the powerful land owner.

In May 2010, in Budapest Hungary, two brothers, Zsolt and Geza Peladi, a pair of penniless down and outs, inherited a share of a $7 billion fortune. The Peladi brothers were so poor they lived in a cave outside Budapest, and sold scrap materials and other junk they scavenged in the streets. Lo and behold, after a life of abject poverty, both men, then in their forties, and their sister who lives in America, learned that they inherited their grandmother's massive fortune. They knew their mother came from a wealthy family, but she had severed ties with her family long before her death. The Peladi brothers learned of their good fortune after they were contacted by lawyers handling the estate of their maternal grandmother, who died in Germany and left no next of kin. Under

German law direct descendants are automatically entitled to a share of any estate, which in this case passed from their dead mother to them.

Both Eva and the Peladi brothers had lived grueling lives of poverty and deprivation, completely oblivious to the fact that they were extremely wealthy. Eva was practically nobility, but she lived, worked and retired as a maid. She would have died in poverty, if she had not taken steps to ascertain her true identity. That discovery unlocked a $40 million inheritance and catapulted her from rags to riches. Imagine how she would have felt when she got the news. Imagine even further, if she had not taken steps to investigate the rumors about her ancestry; and had lived and died, so rich, but alas, so poor! Think of all the years she went without, scraping out a meager existence as a maid, while her $40 million inheritance lay unclaimed! The only thing that she needed to do to receive her inheritance was to confirm her identity as the daughter of baron Otero.

Similarly, the Peladi brothers would have died as they lived, homeless and penniless. Imagine how they felt, when they went from living in a cave one day, scrounging in the streets for scraps to sell for a buck; to becoming billionaires overnight. For both Eva and the Peladi brothers, they didn’t have to ‘DO’ anything to earn their inheritance. It came with their ancestry. It was their birthright. But they almost missed out on this incredible reality, because they did not know who they were, or more importantly, whose they were. The only action they needed to take to qualify for their fabulous fortunes was to know, confirm, claim and enforce their true identity.

Rags to Riches

Rags to riches stories are a favorite literary staple the world over! From Cinderella, to Jane Eyre, to The Cash Boy; rags to riches is a common archetype in literature and popular culture. Something in our humanity connects deeply with any situation in which the underdog wins, or a person rises from abysmal poverty to towering wealth or from absolute obscurity to dizzying heights of fame and fortune. These stories inspire hope and faith in children and adults alike to believe that anything is possible.

The Bible tells the ultimate, true, rags to riches story; a dramatic love story of how Jesus left His deity and mansions above, to come to planet earth to rescue fallen humanity trapped in sin, shame, and bondage by the devil. He loved us, and wanted us for His own. But we were hopelessly bound and enslaved by the enemy, the devil; and his side kick, the flesh. There was no other way to save us than through His own death. So, He died a gruesome death on Calvary’s cross to pay the ransom for our freedom. John 3:16 says it best, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus moved us from rags to riches, from death to life, from bondage to freedom, and from slavery to sonship!

King Solomon’s Lament

In Ecclesiastes 10:7, King Solomon laments, I have seen slaves on horseback, while princes walk on the ground like servants. This is an anomaly, a sorry sight to see! Slaves riding on horseback, at a

time when horses were the privilege of kings and nobles; while princes, the sons of kings, who should by right of birth be on horseback, are consigned to, or choose either by omission or commission, to walk on the ground like servants. This unfortunate scenario sounds like a scene right out of a blockbuster Hollywood Trading Places type of movie, except that this is a real life drama played out in the lives of millions of Christians daily.

The Bible declares that as many as receive Christ, He gives them the power to become sons of God (John 1:12). Revelation 1:6 says that God has made us ‘kings and priests". We are royalty! This is our birthright. We don’t have to DO anything to qualify. We were already qualified by God when He adopted us as His children. All we have to do is to believe and appropriate the truth that we are sons and daughters of Almighty God. But sad to say, this is not the reality of so many Christians. Like Eva, many Christians are living beneath their lofty inheritance.

Romans 8:17 states that, as children of God, we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. Imagine that! We have access to everything that makes God, God. As His children, we are inheritors of all of God’s mammoth and limitless resources and estate; and have authority in three realms, in heaven, on the earth, and under the earth! But that truth is not evident in the lives of many Christians. Their lives are a far
