Untwisted Word - Tracy Lutz
APOSTATE OR
IMPOSTER
It is said that a person who was once in the faith of religion and for whatever reason, turned away from that belief was called an apostate.
APOSTASY as defined by Wikipedia is a derivative of the word apsotasia
meaning revolt, renunciation or disaffiliation.
One who undertakes apostasy is known as an APOSTATE. It’s a common word used in religions to identify and label former associates of their faiths. To be fair, former practitioners of witchcraft, satan worshippers and other beliefs deemed anti-Christian can also be called apostates.
Once you have read scripture and made a valiant, soul searching effort to identify as a member of a particular faith, following doctrine, making all effort to adhere to its practices and coming to the conclusion that something is amiss.
After much praying, fasting and sacrificing, life still on a downward spiral. Praying that god helps you find a job.
Praying that god heals you from cancer. Praying to god to let your mama live. Praying and fasting to purchase your own home. Praying to god to keep you off drugs. Just so many things we pray and ask god for that never comes to pass.
Then we notice that the only ‘blessed" person in the congregation is the pastor and his family.
While he may be happy to pray for you, he rarely shows genuine concern for whether your prayers are answered or not.
He (pastor) has taken on the role of helping you find scriptures to justify why god DIDN’T instead of what it takes to allow god to move on your behalf. It’s easier to convince you why it DIDN’T happen than it is to help you grow to a place of how to have an earnest expectation. If YOU can find a path to the blessing
that doesn’t involve the church, the church suffers. If you ever question the validity of the doctrine being taught, you start to hear the word APOSTATE being used.
No one wants to be labeled an apostate, even at the risk of losing your own mind! So many, instead of thinking for themselves, go with the flow to their own detriment.
Pastors spend so much time telling people what god is GOING to do. They look to scripture to tell you what god has DONE. Very few, if any, documentable blessings and testimonies. Everything is PROPHETIC.
They hype people up with the promises of god but can’t logically explain the absence of god in the daily lives of the people they minister to. The word minister is a misnomer here. To minister is to console and encourage.
To console and encourage in god is beyond the scope of the capability of a pastor. They have no authority to make a promise for god without being able to make sure god comes through.
So what are we saying here? Are we being lied to? Most of time, probably so but sadly too often, they are sincere in their ministerial rhetoric. A great number of pastors and ministers have studied the scriptures to the point of being able to convince a person that they speak the truth, even though nothing ever supernaturally pans out.
They are absolute masterful at spinning an excuse as to why god didn’t answer your prayers. Those excuses usually hinge on YOUR failure to believe enough. The lack and failure is always on YOU never god.
The very thought that god is uninterested in you or your problems will bring your clergy great pause!
Even though he never comes through, it is important for them to keep you convinced that he will.
The reality is that your prayers go unanswered while your money flows freely to ministries faithfully.
How do people go to the same church and hear the same messages packaged with different hooks
week after week and remain captivated by the promise alone? No evidence, just promise.
Dead and dying without living to experience the promise.
Did god only promise the elite and celebrities? Sadly, it appears that way looking from the position of lack.
I write this as my own discovery and awakening. The words you read here are entirely of my own opinion.
They are not intended to influence anyone. These words are written as an expression of thought.
I value the opinion of everyone, regardless of how they may greatly differ from my own.
I believe that we have a larger number of apostates than we may know of. I was a church attending apostate.
It got to the point that during Sunday School classes, I was condescendingly asked if was in agreement with that days doctrine message. Followed by eye rolls and grumbling. The reason for it is that I was the person always questioning the Bible character of God. Nothing never lined up. The promise never matched the reality.
The music gave the people such a heightened sense of emotion. The words to the gospel music always had an uplifting yet unattainable message. There were moments that I would become personally overcome and emotional listening to the choirs and singers. The problem was that when it was time to live the REAL LIFE of living, none of that mattered.
Humming the song in line at the employment office had little effect on the person turning you down for work or benefits. A good soul stirring and emotionally intensifying song never mattered to the mortgage officer denying your home loan. No amount of scripture quoting and silent prayer was going to miraculously erase your bad credit. The sad part is that many parishioners are lead to believe that with enough tithing, praying and fasting, that god would supernaturally wipe away debt and bad credit.
What does one do when god doesn’t fix
it? Where do you turn? Could it be that you were lied to from the beginning?
We love the catch phrase, fix it Jesus
but when he doesn’t, we take a deep breath in preparation for the next nothing.
Have you ever contemplated a reality where the god character didn’t exist? Could you refrain from becoming
a murderer with that god? What about a thief or bigamist? Do you really need the Bible to keep you moral?
In light of the ongoing worldwide pandemic, there are many prominent evangelicals who believe that president 45 is the moral leader chosen by god for the USA. They do not care about allegations of sexual misconduct.
They do not care about his name calling of those who disagree with him. They disregard his use of profane remarks of disenfranchised people. They disregard his multiple marriages and yet hold him up as gods choice to lead a nation.
The truth of the matter is that their corporations, also known as CHURCH, would suffer if their finances were scrutinized by the government. Those corporations
pay no tax at all and are exempt from having to give an account of their millions in
