Chapter 1
PROLOGUE
Intent of this book
The intent of this book is to provide a Philosophical Framework for an Ideal Life and Society in India.
It starts with a global assessment and Design pioneered in my first book and then provides a perspective on India for it. Together, it constitutes the Kiran Manifesto for India.
Today, civilized society appears to be in palliative care. We need urgent action to improve our society so we can all lead a free, peaceful, secure, healthy, safe, prosperous and happy life.
This book first provides an assessment of where the world is today, how we got here and the current issues and challenges that need to be addressed so that we can move towards an Ideal Life and Society for all the people in the world.
It then describes the need to build a new political and socio-economic system that provides true personal freedom and generates inclusive growth and happiness for a better life and society for everyone.
The new System is presented as a global Manifesto that will move us towards an Ideal Life and Society. I am confident that it will become a beacon of hope and road-map for the suffering but silent majority who have become effectively dis-enfranchised by the nexus of powerful Politicians, Establishment Elites, Corporate Lobbyists, Religious Leaders and Traditional Media who all enrich themselves while marginalizing ordinary people by denigrating and manipulating them as unfit to exercise their democratic rights or improve their position in society.
I am calling the new system the Kiran Manifesto as it represents my personal ideas and beliefs.
It is first presented as a global manifesto at a general conceptual level that includes its broad philosophy, general framework, principles, values, constitutional pillars, essential services and self-sustaining financing model. I have also presented supporting happiness imperatives, social equity growth catalysts and an ideal life view that together promote inclusive growth, social equity and happiness.
This will enable its adoption, adaptation and customization by any country while maintaining its core principles and values. I consider it to be a living document that will evolve with society over time.
This book then provides a perspective on India so that we can use the Kiran Manifesto for a developing country like India.
I hope that the Kiran Manifesto for India will be an inspiration for the many emerging populist movements in India that are still yearning for true personal freedom, inclusive growth and happiness.
