About this ebook

The Path to Success

The only dumb people in this world are those who do not have any dream, but dream without any effort is dead.

When you wake-up in the morning, do not be like that bird hiding under the leaves and branches of the trees for fear of the drops of rain. Go out and challenge your day with confidence and determination. Face your day with full of life, joy and expectations. Do not be like that tree that stood in one place for so long without any dream, without any hope. Roar like a tiger, and surmount every challenge you face with fortitude and willpower. Try to be a winner, a winner who is not afraid to fail. Acceptance of failure is a sign of strength and a way of overcoming the ego. Failure is one tool of learning. Experience and learning enrich your wisdom in life.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our beloved daughter Lilimar Avelino-Ruhlmann for dedicating her time during the copyediting process of the manuscript of this book, "The Path to Success". During the couple of days that she returned home from a business trip, she dedicated her nights to copyediting the manuscript prior to it being sent to the production line. Before returning to her work assignment, she saw to it that those corrections were e-mailed to my two e-mail addresses so that I’ll not miss any of the corrections she made to the manuscript.

I would like to acknowledge the time that Yvonne Brooks spent in reading and pre-editing the first two Chapters of this book. Her inspirational comments and suggestive notations during that process made the copyediting of the two Chapters simple, easier, and manageable.

I would like to express my thanks to Edythe M. Whidden for her time spent in helping me decipher the contract offered by the first publisher of my choice. My declination to that first offer led me to select Xlibris Publishing Corporation whose personnel were all prompt, courteous, and accommodating.

I would like to make a special mention of Christy Parks who has been very responsive to all my requests, and was always there to answer my questions and demands. To her, and to all the Xlibris personnel who have put a hand to make the publishing of this book possible, I say Thank you very much.PREFACE

Inspired by messages of hope from pastors, priests, and ministers, I wrote this book as a guide to those young minds who are losing their hopes as they struggle to meet the challenges in their daily life. Some of those children are lost and confused to the extent of committing suicide. Some of them are developing hatred to the point of harming other people which most of the time leads to shortening their lives and lives of others. Those messages of truth, which we all probably know but most of us ignore must be written to give the minds of the readers the time to meditate, and ponder the meaning of successful living.

As a responsible society, we have to do something about the worsening problem of our youth. The universal message of hope, tolerance, perseverance, and the understanding of human weaknesses and strengths must be conveyed to all—most especially to our young generation. We have to lead the young minds to their path of
