Chapter 1: What Is Heart Attack Or Myocardial Infarction
A Heart attack occurs when a segment of the heart muscle dies or necrosis occurs as a result of a loss of blood supply. The blood supply is usually cut off due to a clogged coronary artery, which supplies blood to the heart muscle via blood clots. This is also referred to as coronary thrombosis. When this occurs, it causes distressing symptoms such as chest pain and electrical instability of the myocardial tissues.
Heart disease is a broad term that encompasses all of the various disorders and diseases that can affect your heart's function. One of the most common causes is oxygen deficiency, which is usually caused by a blockage in the arteries that carry oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the heart. This condition can cause heart damage, and if not treated, the damaged heart will necrotize. To put it another way, the heart cells will begin to die. This condition is frequently caused by a buildup of a waxy substance known as plaque.
Plaque buildup inside your arteries can cause the coronary (or heart) arteries to become partially or
