About this ebook

This book of haiku was written as a way to anonymously allow the reader a look into some of the interactions between a Jungian psychotherapist and his patients, friends and family over many years of practice. These haiku represent a lifetime of thoughtfully collected private dilemmas, stressful situations and shared moments of insight. By giving examples of the things that lead people to seek psychotherapy, it is my hope that the reader gains some understanding of the process. By becoming familiar with these experiences they might seek psychotherapy themselves or recommend it to others. Mental illness should not be a condition to be suffered through alone, now more than ever.

Or it could be the reality that people suffer from mental illness is too disturbing to contemplate.

I believe it will be helpful if people are able to understand the process enough to be comfortable seeking psychotherapy themselves or recommending it to others. One way I might elucidate this process is to describe why people feel the need to seek psychotherapy. By giving examples of some stressful situations and dilemmas people experience which lead them to seek such help, readers may imagine what they might feel or think under the same circumstances.

Over the years, I have collected such human experiences from many sources, including friends, relatives and patients while omitting discrete details so as to ensure their privacy and anonymity.

In my own personal encounters with such situations, emotions and thoughts naturally arise, giving insights
