Introduction

This book is about the various Devices of the Enemy. It informs us about the plots, schemes, wiles and strategies of our enemy the devil. Learn them so that you can defeat the enemy and stop him gaining an advantage over other Christians. Christ came to set us free. We should no longer live in bondage and fear of the enemy.

Dedication

I would like to dedicate this book to all Christians and Believers that have suffered due to the tricks and devices of our enemy.

Devices 1-25

Device 1: Oppression

One of the devices of the enemy is oppression. This deals with holding people back and afflicting them. Oppression normally comes after obsession and possession. When people become obsessed with demonic materials/artefacts, they become possessed. After they are possessed, they then become oppressed. This then leads to the devices of suppression and frustration.

Definition: Oppression is cruel treatment, unjust treatment for a length of time. Oppression can also be the misuse of authority to afflict others, to be wicked and cruel to others.

The enemy seeks to oppress God’s creation. Christ came to set the captives free. He wants us to take people out of the captivity of the devil. God hates oppression. He hates seeing his creation been oppressed. He has tasked us to help free the oppressed.

Scriptures on Oppression:

Psalm 14: 6  The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the LORD will protect his people

Psalm 74: 21… Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name.

How the Enemy Uses Oppression:

The enemy uses oppression to be cruel to Gods children. He uses oppression to inflict sicknesses, diseases and pain on the children of God. The children of Israel were oppressed in Egypt. They cried out to God. God heard their cries and came up with a solution to the problem. The problem was to send a deliverer in the form of Moses.  In the same vein, God is sending us out to free humanity from the oppression of the devil. He has given us his word, his name, his authority etc. These are to be used to free mankind from the oppression of the kingdom of darkness. When people are oppressed, they suffer and are unable to do and accomplish their dreams and purpose. Oppression leads to frustration which is another device of the enemy. We should pray against these.

Prayer Points:

I free myself, my family and friends from every oppression of the enemy in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. I bind and stop the activities of every spirit of oppression in Jesus name.

Device 2: Suppression

INTRODUCTION: After people become obsessed with Satanic artefacts, wigi-boards etc they become possessed. After a demon spirit has possessed them, the spirit can then frustrate/suppress. In the story of the mad man of Gadara found in (Luke 8: 26 to 39), after he was possessed, he was living among tombs. He was no longer living amongst people. This is the extent to which demons can suppress someone they have possessed. This man was meant to be an Evangelist. However due to demonic possession, oppression and suppression he was unable to fulfil his calling. After Jesus set him free, oppression and suppression were broken off his life. He was then able to enter his ministry, calling and fulfil his ministry.

DEFINITION: To suppress means to inhibit, to prevent, to hold back, to stop forward movement.

SCRIPTURES:

Lev 19: 33… And if a stranger sojourn with you in your land, you shall not mistreat/supress him.

2nd Chronicles 28: 10… And now you intend to suppress the people of Judah and Jerusalem, both men and women, as your slaves. But are not you yourselves guilty of crimes against the Lord your God?

HOW THE ENEMY USES SUPPRESSION:

The enemy uses suppression to prevent people from fulfilling their destinies. The enemy uses suppression to prevent people fulfilling their calling(s). Suppression is used to stagnate and limit people especially the people of God. Suppression can lead to people been given wrong labels/wrong titles.

PRAYER POINTS:

I bind and cast out of my life every spirit of suppression. I shall fulfil God’s will for my life. I shall use my gifts and talents to the glory of God.

Device 3: Deception

INTRODUCTION/DEFINITION:

Another device of the enemy is deception. It is used to present a lie as the truth. It is to present falsehood as the truth. People sometimes deceive others with a motive. E.g. A falsifier might present counterfeit money as real money. The motive could be greed, or to acquire some material things or to live a life of luxury. A bachelor/spinster could deceive someone, so that the person thinks that they love them. They could buy them gifts and tell them sweet words. The purpose of this deception could be that they want the persons money/savings, or they want to get their hands on, visa/documents or to get their hands on an inheritance/property that has been left for the person. People are deceived through scams, hoaxes, cover-ups and treachery. The enemy deceives us with motives in mind. He deceives people to believing that there is no God/creator so that they would not pray and ask God for help. So that they will not read the word of God and find out all the promises in the word of God concerning them. So that we will not make it to heaven.

SCRIPTURES:

Proverbs 26: 26… though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

2nd Peter 2: 13… Their destruction is their reward for the harm they have done. They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They delight in deception even as they eat with you in your fellowship meals.

HOW THE ENEMY USES DECEPTION:

The enemy uses deception by lying to people. By getting them to believe that we don’t have to follow the guiding principles of God found in his word. People believe that we can make up our own rules. For e.g. In some countries, parents aren’t allowed to discipline their children.

This deception has led to high crime rate (increased numbers in juvenile prisons) amongst the youth as they haven’t learnt to respect others. They are not disciplined. Indiscipline means that they go about with knives stabbing others.

The enemy also deceives us through tricks, betrayal, untruth, deceit and dis-information. We should all watch out for this device of the enemy. We should verify things and not just take things at face value.

PRAYER POINTS:  Heavenly Father, protect me from those wishing to deceive me. Reveal deception unto me in Jesus name. I pray for the spirit of discernment that will help me distinguish a lie from the truth. (the genuine from the fake).

Device 4: Affliction & Sickness

INTRODUCTION:

These are two devices the enemy uses. Not only against unbelievers but against the children of God. When a person desires to afflict another and takes their name to a witch-doctor to afflict them; The reasons behind affliction could be envy, jealous, revenge, unforgiveness, hatred etc. When the enemy afflicts the children of God, it is usually to hurt papa God. It is also designed to stop the people of God fulfilling their God-given destiny.

DEFINITION: Affliction is defined as: A state of pain, distress, grief or misery. Affliction can cause mental or bodily pain, sickness etc. Affliction can cause loss or calamity. Affliction can be a result of persecution.

SCRIPTURES:

Psalm 34: 19… Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Matthew 24: 9… Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake

James 5: 14, 15… Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

Proverbs 13: 12… Hope deferred makes the heart sick,

but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

HOW THE ENEMY USES AFFLICTION & SICKNESS:

These two devices are mostly aimed at stopping the children of God. When someone is afflicted with pain, they are likely to stay home (take medicine) and not go out to do the work of God. When people feel a bit sick, they are likely to stay home and not go to church to fellowship with the saints. Affliction can also lead to pre-mature death. The enemy wants to stop the purposes of God on the Earth. He wants to stop those been used by God. One way of stopping the work/kingdom of God is by afflicting the children of God with sickness.

PRAYER POINTS: I bind every spirit of affliction assigned against me, my family and church members. Virtue Angels of God, remove sickness from my body in Jesus name. Heavenly Father, give wisdom to medical practitioners to find cures for all sicknesses in Jesus name.

Device 5: The Device Of Astral Attacks

INTRODUCTION/DEFINITION:

This is another device that the enemy uses. Astral travel is used by those who practice witchcraft. They master the art of bringing their spirits out of their bodies and travelling to places to attack others or cause harm to others.

Definition of Astral: Deals with the non-physical realm where psychic and paranormal activities take place.

Astral Projection: Is when someone practicing occultism can bring their spirit out of their body to travel to places on occultic missions. Astral projection is a counterfeit satanic practice. God can sometimes take our spirits to places to show us things. For example, if someone is praying about the location to start a church/ministry.

SCRIPTURES:

Leviticus 19: 26… You must not eat anything with blood still in it. You must not practice divination or sorcery.

2nd Corinthians 12: 1 to 4…. I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. ² I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. ³ And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— ⁴ was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.                                                             

HOW THE ENEMY USES ASTRAL ATTACKS:

After decisions are taken in witchcraft meetings to afflict someone or to fire an arrow at someone, one strategy is to send high level witches and demons to travel to the person’s house and fire an arrow/implant sickness/feed the person in their dream etc

A person’s name/picture/hair/clothes could be taken to a witch doctor. He could then contact demons to afflict the person. He might join the flight/journey at night to the persons town/house to afflict the person. This is done via Astral travel.

PRAYER POINTS:

May the Angels of Jehovah God stop every Astral travel and attack fashioned against my life and family in Jesus name. Every witchcraft plane flying against me I smite you
