The Gift
It was a great day, very sunny and non-school day! The park was full of kids playing, but there was one kid sitting on a bench, thoughtful and a little sad.
His name was Aarón.
desilusiónAarón spent the day watching the rest of the kids play and have fun doing things they were good at. Around him, there were kids playing soccer, others doing races; there was a kid climbing through the castle of ropes and a group of girls singing while playing in the slides... But Aarón didn’t like any of those things and he wasn’t any good at them.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t find something he liked and was good at!
An elderly man from the park, seeing him sad, sat next to him.
What’s wrong young man?
I’m not good at anything,
Aarón complained.
Don’t say that boy, we all have something we are good at, a gift. We just have to search for it, look carefully,
said the elderly man with a smile, while Aarón looked at him wide-eyed. Did he also have a gift?
Maybe you haven’t found it yet... but don’t worry. Can I help you?
asked the elderly man.
Yes, of course,
replied Aarón.
Look, the gift usually hide in the things you like to do the most, things that you naturally do. What do you like doing? What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
