Throughout my career, I have written many books. And while I wish I could tell you this one is like so many others, that would be a lie. What Dustin and I created is something people dream about. The words on the page became magic. On a Friday night in the fall of 2013 to strangers began a journey that would change our lives. Although neither of us understood that at the time. The years slipped by and our lives changed in many ways. Until fate or maybe an angel. Brought us back together again. This time we took no chances and began writing together again at once. And just like in the beginning the magic was still there. I guess the old saying is true if God has a plan, we will be powerless to stop it.

Why when love could bring joy do we run?

Why when we know it’s wrong do, we fall?

Why when the door is open do, we, not walkthrough?

And why if this could last ...do we refuse to even try?

Why is it that we are blind to all that is right, but able to believe in what is wrong?

Why?

The dream lives on

The pain comes again

I have loved more than I should ....and less than I can

All in the hopes of saving thy heart

Living just right and making it long enough to find Mr. or Mrs. Right

Maybe I should hold on to the tears .... Let the pain wash over me

Maybe I should turn away ...and never let love come my way

The damage you left fills my soul and I never knew hurt like this before

Maybe I should hate you.... Lord, never speak your name

No, baby that would be too easy...think I’d rather feel the pain

Maybe I....

Would you understand if I said I think you’re kind of...?

Would you look at me with the eyes of love if I said you could be the one?

Would you know the words I speak honest and true?

And if I ever said I love you would you understand the why?

In my head, we are but one...

And forever is no longer the dream

We hold each other tight, and know we’re always...

I look in the mirror and see the face of love

And when I speak the words ...I know them true

I love you

But here in the real world, this will never be

For the truth is never so easy

And the lie will cause too much pain...

In my dreams at night, you say the words.... I long to hear

And for a moment I believe you mine

Still, here in the real world, I face the truth...we could never be

Love is cruel and often full of hurt

I long to understand that strange and wonderful thing that makes the heart skip a beat...

We see the face of love in the one that holds the key ...

And understand that the promise of forever is never a guaranty

Yet we always remain hopeful

The object of our affection 

Remains just out of reach...still, we move forward hoping to realize the prize

Love everlasting, a gift straight from God

And when the day comes ...and the dream becomes real

We stand tall and breathe

As the heart becomes whole again

Wicked, cruel, and fierce, you came into my life like no other

Strong, brave, and true, I feel that I have the best of you

The seed of love has begun

And the future now bright and new

I hope to always give my heart to you

A longing now filled by the promise of what could be

A life of love and everlasting happiness

And as the years go by...and the children leave home we’ll find peace in the fact we are never in life alone

For

I love you today.... tomorrow.... and always

There are words I wish to say, but somehow, they escape me

I want to show you love far beyond.... but I know not

There are dreams I wish to fulfill, but I have not a clue

Songs that I long to sing.... but fear keeps me now

Pleasure I long to give...but alas I know not

Thou my love will always be.... I pray we find some peace

For a love without hope is a love lost by time, pain, and a forgotten soul

Dreams like lovers they take the soul on a journey

Blind by what the heart wants.... not what the eyes see

Cruel are the thoughts of the one left behind 

Left to deal with rejection...and a broken heart

I have come to understand that love is never easy

And the heart will not always win

But without the fight ...we will never truly...

Could one so strong find the weak too much to bear?

Has the heart been broken too long for love to find a way in?

Questions fill the mind of the one lost in the idea of never again.

I’m taken by the sweet sound of your voice

The smell of your favorite perfume

The funny little way your cheeks turn red with a simple touch

The smile that finds your lips with the whisper of I love you

I love the feel of your body next to mine and the way you move under my embrace

Sounds you make while in the throes of passion fill my heart with joy

And at last, I understand that love is real and everlasting

Blind are we the children of yesteryear...

Blind by the love we once thought pure and true

Left in the dark to the wrongs done by those we trust

For the child of the fool is the child of the blind and unwilling

Blind by that, which is before your face?

Blind to the hate which lives within

Blind to the longing for something never meant to be

For the face of love is not always pure and true

But the face of greed will soon shine through

Blind are we to the evil so near.... It should scare the soul of one lost in the idea of family

Blind are we as the wolf slips in....and the blade comes out to take away our truth

Blind....

Can’t sleep without you

Don’t want to live without you

For everything I am....

Baby, I have dreamed about you

Now I never want to let you go

Prayed at night I would find you

I thank God, each and every day

For the wonder, he has sent my way

Yes, the woman that you are

For you are the soul of me...the best that I have to give

The joy that I call life and love

Hate takes the soul of the fool

Fool to believe everything true blue

Longing for more than one needs has turned your world upside down

Stand in your truth and let the light shine

For only in the dark can one be lost

Lost in the idea of fair play...and honest heart

Bond by love and respect we have found the darkness slowly come in

Evil is the one that whispers I love you ...while slowly taking all

And the child of the fool never sees it coming

Love has taken me by surprise

Lost in the idea of never...I would not see

Life is filled with possibilities

A longing I did have for the one I thought would never come

But, alas you are here

Now the spirit rises to the bright new day

As I welcome your love each and every day

Why can’t you see me for the way that I am?

When I say that I love you...why don’t you believe me?

Cause you know this heart true

We say it’s forever...but you know it’s not true

I cry as you leave me...because I broke the promise

I said I love you....

Baby, say that you need me....and I’ll say forever

But we know it’s not true

Could have lasted for always...could have been at your side

Time is the killer .... never saw coming

It took you away

Now I can’t live without you...can't let you go

So, cry me a river .... say it’s forever as I watch you go away

I long to understand the woman before me

Beautiful and strong you never cease to amaze

I look into your eyes and see forever

Your touch and I am gone to a place I have never been

The taste of your kiss and I melt, like butter

And as our lips meet the world slowly fades to black, leaving only the love we share

I have longed to understand the woman before me

And alas I know that I never really will

We take so many things for granted ...like the word

forever.

Believing that nothing will change, and yet nothing

stays the same

Look around my friend and you will see that

nothing will remain

Tell the one you’re with that your love will live

forever...if only in the heart
