Discipleship

About this ebook
Discipleship is one of those 'Christianese' words that is not only intimidating to a new follower of Christ, but can even be beyond comprehension.
In Discipleship, author John M. Segal shares his understanding of the difference between discipleship and salvation, and what that means for people in today's culture. His plain language approach openly states his own early perspective of hypocrisy in the church, and how his attempt for spiritual growth brought him to the truth in scripture.
Read Discipleship, and understand for yourself what natural and spiritual qualities you are capable of attaining.

INTRODUCTION
I always like to start with my whole life story, so here it is.
I'm not what I think I am. I'm not what I thought I'd be. Nor am I what I ought to be. But by the grace of God, I'm not what I was. I once was lost, but now am found-was blind but now I see.
Now that's not just my life story, that's everybody's story who is a born-again child of God. And if that's not your story, it ought to be. You were born so that God could give you a chance to be born again. You've got a choice. You can either be born once and die twice, or you can be born twice and die once.
Disciples are followers of Jesus. The word ‘disciple’ comes from the Latin word ‘DISCIPULUS’ which means ‘to be a learner’. A disciple always thinks of himself as sitting at the feet of Jesus, learning from the Master. With Jesus the learning never ends. Webster’s Dictionary defines a disciple as, ‘one who believes in and helps disseminate the teachings of a master’. Jesus said it more simply to Simon and Andrew, "Come, follow me, and
