Most overweight people have gain their weight very slowly, just a half a pound or sometimes a pound a week. They don't drink a lot of beer, have a lot of second helpings or drink a lot of sugared sodas. For years they were told that fat made you fat and they bought the low-fat and no fat versions of the foods they liked. And still the weight came on month after month.
Now, we list some of the diets people turn to when they try to lose weight. Some of them are hilarious. Most of them describe in great detail the kinds of menus you should eat from and the foods used to fill out those menus. One of the diets that sends you food to eat show some pictures of meals loaded with foods to be avoided.

For many years I worked in the food and drug industries and diets, diet drugs, and eating habits were constantly discussed. The effects of eating certain foods and taking certain drugs were studied and analyzed endlessly. There was a lot of talk and study revolving around calories, but sugar was just another source of calories, not a separate study. When I was retired and 30 pounds overweight, I went back and reviewed what I had learned. The Atkins diet made a lot of sense in terms of avoiding sugar by avoiding carbohydrates, but carbohydrates are too important in your diet to be avoided because they contain sugar.

That is the way the journey began by looking at sugar loaded foods like fruit and supposedly low sugar foods like vegetables and grains. The answers were there, if you asked the right questions, but even the people who knew the answers did not see the implications of what they were saying. There is free sugar in a lot of foods that is unlabeled because of the way it is made.

Once you know where the sugar is, the diet is simple. You need a fair amount of sugar in your diet for energy, today's energy. If you get too much sugar the excess gets stored as fat for that day when you need more sugar than you have the and the body will lose the fat and use the stored sugar. So you are not eating less, just eating a little differently, A lot of food experts know the facts about sugar. They just haven't put two and two together yet. We will show you how to do it. We also talk about snacks. In our "stay home" economy it is easy to get up every half hour, go in the kitchen and get a bite. Those bites add up and we'll give you some snacks that won't contain secret sugar, one that uses more energy to eat than it gives in return!

    Relax.  This diet is simply a matter of easing back on two or three food categories that can make the difference between weight gain and weight loss.

    You won’t stop eating anything, but some things you ate without thinking will now become treats for your happy moments.

    We have been told that a good diet book should be 300+ pages and sell for more than $30 in order to be convincing.  We trust the facts will  be convincing and you won’t mind saving some money.  But don’t spend it all on candy!

    The good news is that foods you have been giving up because the soft drink people wanted you to think they made you fat, are foods that you can enjoy again. We’ll tell you about foods you have been told are not good to eat by this or that theory of good foods versus bad foods. There are very few bad foods.  In fact, you will be pleased to enjoy eating them again, many for the first time in years. Enjoy!

    This is not a crash diet.  You should try to lose the weight a little faster than the way you gained it, a few pounds a week or less.  This will give your body a chance to contract the same way it expanded.  That will mean fewer wrinkles when you are done.

    The diet is a simple way to reverse the pattern of weight gain you have been experiencing.  The body saves fat as a source of energy, if you should need it.  We will reverse the pattern so that your use of energy will exceed the supply of energy you are currently getting from the food you are eating. 

    Gaining and losing weight involves many emotional and metabolic elements. But we believe that we have isolated the main reasons for most weight problems and are recommending a rational plan for weight loss that will work even when other problems are also present.

    Finally, if the plan doesn’t work for you, it is probably because some things are just too good to give up or there is some exercise or metabolic problem.  This program should work more than 90% of the time, but there are always exceptions. A trip to your doctor and a few tests may reveal other possible causes for you weight and its problems. Don’t worry, there are other plans you can try, and we wish you luck.
