      There’s a reason behind the term the great outdoors. There are so many things in this world that can leave us awestruck: the vastness of the ocean, the innumerable stars that only seem to be outnumbered by the grains of sand on a beach, the colors of a sunset, the burst of lightning. Whatever it may be, most of us have had a moment where stopping and smelling the roses turns into the observation of a world with countless infinitesimal features that only God could have created.

      There’s a reason that we go out for walks to clear our heads. It’s simply because it is such a good and healthy thing for us to be out in God’s creation. Some of us love that scenery so much that we even bring parts of it into our own home. Nature has a way to touch our souls in so many different ways that nothing manmade has ever been able to do. God uses that creation to stir our hearts and use this creation to draw us closer to Him.

      Think about your favorite place to go on vacation. Most of us probably say something along the lines of a place in nature. Some say their place is a cabin in the mountains, or a lake house, or a beach house. Some may talk about camping in the woods or a place where they can hike, but all of these have the same concept. We seek a place to unplug. Most of us look for a place where we can be at peace. It only seems natural that the places that ease our hearts the most, are the places surrounded by God’s creation.

      Therefore I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing? Consider the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they? Can any of you add one moment to his life-span by worrying?
