    Molly lives by the beach, and misbehaves all the time. There's a reason why she acts up. It's the monsters of Monster Land! The monsters are free to act and do as they please and that's what Molly wants to do as well. For awhile...

    In her day to day life, she is restless and finds everything boring. Believing that she is part monster, she decides that she would fit in better in Monster Land, a land for monsters beyond the tallest dune. Her dog Jojo knows the way to the entrance, and leads her there. 

    Once inside, she visits with all her monster friends, including a mud dog monster, a gossip monster and a crabby bird. The sun and the moon help her out now and then, as she decides on whether she wants to stay or not.

      Chapter 1

      My name is Molly McGent and I live by the dunes near Lake Michigan. We don’t have many neighbors, but I like living there because we are so close to the beach. The ground is sandy, but I like the sand because it feels cool on my feet in the morning and evening. The beach grass grows tall in my yard. Our home is surrounded by a white picket fence. My dog’s name is Jojo and he is very talented at finding things, but only for me, and only if I ask him to.

      I had a bad day yesterday. I was having fun running back and forth and my mother told me that I was too loud and that I needed to be quiet because she was on the phone. So I yelled, I’m always loud when I play, it’s not my fault that you’re always on the phone! When my mother hung up the phone, she sent me to my room.

      I took Jojo with me. We jumped on the bed and tossed the blankets and pillows all around the room. Jojo growled and barked and tore
