Dedication
It is in the heart of this poet to recognize the truth as it bubbles up within him and pours onto the pages of his life. I have always felt love, first in its absence, then in its promise, and now in its realization. As the formless mist became real there was a beautiful transformation. Although that transformation had occurred, the feeling has remained the same. I can feel her. I can sense her. I know she is there even when my eyes cannot see her and my flesh cannot touch her. She dwells within me, a testament to the soul’s knowing and the heart’s ability to know.
She is a private person so I will not mention her by name in this text. She’d rather keep most of what we share between us, which is fine by me. I will just say that she’s been my muse for quite some time, and she knows it. While the mind plays tricks on us and we often fail to realize the truth of who we are when absorbed by that endless chatter, the words written here are etched in stone as a testament to the truth we share. It is a timeless truth despite our humanity, and it is eternal despite our mortality.
So, to the Great Muse of my life I dedicate this book to you. May you know your name in my beating chest, and hear your song sung softly in each and every breath I take.
Love. ∞
The Way
The way
Your fingers write love
On the pages of my soul.
The grip of emotion
Ebbs and flows like an ocean tide,
My head nestled
In prayer
Upon your breast,
It is the way.
The way,
Dimly lit
Yet illuminated brightly.
I see it now,
Your heartbeat echoing in my eternity,
What have you drawn on my skin?
But some mystery to unfold?
My love you have shown me
The way.
∞
I SEE YOU
To what do I owe this pleasure?
Your heart embracing mine...
Your soul speaking the language I know somehow,
Your eyes lighting up the fires in my mind.
I see you, the layers falling by the shoreline,
Like your clothes, leaving a trail to heightened ecstasy,
The shield you've shown so mightily,
Falls beside us as we kiss.
Your truth, such a beautiful Sunrise for these tired eyes,
Makes love to me without a touch,
Speaks volumes though barely a word’s been spoken.
Your whispers echo in the caverns of my soul.
Fear not, for you are safe...here.
We shall guard each other with every ounce of strength,
Feed each other from the supple grapes we've grown,
Together, in this eternal promise.
To what do I owe this moment?
The idea of your lips on mine,
The taste of love forever on my tongue.
Scars being forgotten in the raised bumps upon our skin.
I see you, a wise man I've been hewn to be,
Knowing grace in the fullness of simplicity,
Finding truth in the sweet nectar you were born to give,
Living and dying in the Word you whisper in my ear.
The empty spot so rigidly saved for you,
We sit together still, one each side of the Bodhi tree,
Our fingers touching, our breath mixing with the air around us,
Brought together by a
