    INTRODUCTION

    Yoga has changed my life forever, and it all began a few years ago. My wife had a gym membership, and the free guest passes meant that I would have to go. It was not an option, and I was less than enthusiastic. Fine, I said defiantly, but I’m not doing any weights or machines ! I’ll do the treadmill, and then try this… yoga class.

    Running the treadmill allowed me to exercise at my own pace, and the boost in heart-rate and endorphines was very pleasant. Then came the yoga class. The discovery of mindful breathing, the opening and releasing of stiff muscle tissues, and the long chant in unison to conclude the class… It exceeded my expecations. I now believed !

    I began a somewhat regular yoga practice, and within a couple months – not years – my wife and I decided that we could commit to a 200-hour weekend-only yoga teacher training in Culver City, California. Basically, it was like not knowing how to swim, but diving into the deepest part of the pool
