A Common Thread

Now as we embark on a new period in our lives

Together, I realize all over again how very lucky

I am to have you in my life. Little things we share

Like a conversation just between us or a moment

When we’re all alone just sitting on the couch

Taking in some music or a movie remind me just

How wonderful our Tyme is when it’s just us

Enjoying them. We’ve been through so much

Together these past few years that I am reminded

Just how magnificent our relationship really is.

We have weathered some rough spots and enjoyed

Many a special quiet moments too, but the common

Thread to all of our moments together is that we

Have made it through the tough Tymes and enjoyed

All of the great ones by just ourselves being us.

There are so many things that I feel I need to tell

You but let me start by saying how proud of you

I am to have for my partner. You make everything

That we enjoy or endure memorable to say the

Least. I couldn’t imagine spending my life with

Anybody else nor would I want to. It is that

Common factor of ‘you’ that makes ‘us’ so very

special and rewarding. Thank you for choosing

Me as your life partner. We’ve been through many

Years together…here’s to many more happy ones

Afternoon Nap

She washes her whiskers with dainty paws,

She washes her fur as she goes. Carefully

She sees to it that her entire body is cleaned

Before she is through. Her tiny pink tongue

Washes her face and ears as she continues

Her duty before her she does so without a

Sound. Just as quietly as she began her task

She finishes and turns to look around her

Then softly yawns and curls back up into

A smaller version of herself. But before

She can fall asleep she take notice of all

In the space around her, then carefully she

Falls gently back to sleep for the rest of

This afternoon’s nap

Your rambunctious ways always keeps me entertained.

Your cute and cuddly little face always makes me smile.

Your tiny wiggly tail always catches my eye and makes

Me wonder just what you’ve been up to. The way that

You wash yourself a half a dozen Tymes a day makes

Me envious of your cleanliness. But most of all your

Beautiful little green eyes make me glad to have you

For my friend, for they always cheer me up when I’m

Feeling down and low. You are my special furry friend

Who snuggles up next to me when I’m lying alone in

Bed and makes me feel especially Loved, for you depend

On me for your well being. No matter how I let myself

Get out of touch with reality you always keep me well

Grounded with the fact that you need me for food, water

Shelter and Love. I need you for the playful enthusiasm

That you always share with me. You are a special friend

that I need indeed.
