    A Broken Heart … a mother’s story

    Remembering Alex

    Alex was not ashamed to admit he was a mommy’s boy! I was proud of that! He told a lot of my friends that his mommy was all he had, other than Heidi. Heidi is his sister. We were the only ones who stood by his side, helped him any way we could.

    Alex and Heidi were extremely close. He would sometimes talk with her, then he would talk to me. He lived with Heidi and her husband and kids for awhile. She would cook for him, things he liked. And they would go out and do things together. He was also good with Heidi’s four kids, Drake, Bryson, Madison and Grayce— they loved their uncle Alex very much. I think her oldest son looks just like Alex.

    I remember when Heidi and Alex were little, and we would go places and do things— I remember everything we did back then. Both of them played sports. They loved it! Heidi, when she played Mighty Mites basketball, would walk down the court talking instead of playing ball, and Alex would laugh.

    I remember when Alex played T-ball, and Heidi and I would go to his games— I would yell and scream for Alex. One day, a man got up and moved away from me. He said I was too loud. I told him that was my son, and that I was
