About this ebook
La'Shel Lovejoy
When fourteen La'Shel nearly lost her life. Although never fully recovered, she refused to be held back. She has a passion to uplift anyone on the road of life itself. The permeating vein throughout her poetry is in reflecting on life itself and seeing the victory: 'our responses determine who we become.' This is a very victorious young woman!

Notes or My Personal Reflections
Preface by the Poet
I find that poetry is more of a companion than a talent. My true thoughts and feelings are shared through my poetry. I am so very appreciative of having been provided with this as a gift from God. Poetry is something I have never been taught or would want to learn. In doing so, that would alter my natural gift.
Prior to reading this book, I want to prepare you to view things from a positive perspective. In life I’ve been through much turmoil. I don’t want others to have to experience similar conditions prior to acquiring a thankful heart for life. This turmoil has allowed me to see life’s true value. I would like to take the time to help you envision ideas so that you don’t take life for granted. Each day is a gift.

This provides me with tremendous appreciation simply knowing that I might affect others in a positive way.

I may never fully recover, but I refuse to let this hold me behind. My health was affected, but my heart was not touched. I have a disability, but my disability does not have me. As this Journal of Poetry might reveal to you, a God-given ability always outweighs a disability.
My poetry is my companion;
