    INTRODUCTION

When you do things from your soul you feel a river moving

    in you, a joy.

    Rumi

If you listen to or watch the news you would be forgiven for thinking that there is no hope for our planet, our future, or the world. I refuse to give up hope. I believe that some of us are here to make a positive difference in the world through the life that we live and the actions that we take on a daily basis.

I also feel that the earth is an abundant place. If we, as human beings, shared and were mindful of our resources there would be more than enough for all. Over the last 16+ years of working with hundreds of people in various forms of personal, professional and spiritual development, it has become clear to me that it is possible to move into the place where we are expressing our creativity, living with integrity, attracting abundance and making a positive difference in our own unique way.

This Reap Abundance Pathway and this Guidebook are ways in which I am taking action to make my positive difference while I’m here on earth.

I know from my own personal experience and the experience of my clients that when we are in a state of flow, creativity and connection - life feels different. When we take steps to discover and uncover our true gifts we become more inspired and productive. Our relationships improve when we open our hearts to compassion and connection to others. When we focus on what we can give and what we are open to receiving we make a shift and start living in alignment and attracting an abundance of love, joy, peace and other priceless gifts.

    Why Abundance?

What are you so happy about?

I feel like there will be bountiful abundance this year.

    How do you know?

I’m planting the seeds of abundance.

I saw a variation of this meme on social media and it made total sense to me. If you keep clearing the ground and planting seeds for abundance at some point this will bear fruit.

    What is Abundance?

This book is written specifically for you, to help you to restore your purpose so that you can truly create the lasting positive legacy in the world that you are meant to leave. You may be thinking, can I do this work? Of course you can. We are here to bring our fullest self into the world, to shine our light today to be whoever we truly can be.

We are about to travel on The Reap Abundance Pathway together. Although this is a book and you are reading or hearing these words being spoken to you, I would like you to imagine that I’m standing or sitting right next to you guiding you along a spiral path taking you deeper into your own wisdom and insight, supporting you to restore your purpose and reclaim your rebel so that you can release your passion, energise vitality and relationships and awaken your truth, to perceive abundance within and outside of you. This deep presence will enable you to create a lasting legacy.

On this spiralling journey we will engage in the processes of creation and destruction. One turn on the spiral of manifestation we may be creating and harnessing momentum, gathering resources and growing, learning and receiving new insights and wisdom. At the next turn on the path we may be experiencing destruction, letting go of concepts, limiting beliefs and any aspects of your being that hold you back from embodying you fullest self.

We will walk alongside each other on this journey, sometimes we’ll tread along familiar paths, sometimes overgrown or new and difficult ones, but we’ll get through. Stick with the process. Keep moving one step at a time, knowing that you are working with perfect, divine timing. My definition of abundance is living life to its fullest capacity. Embracing life in its light and its shadow. Living out our dreams is both living the life we want to live and realising that we can choose to know that our nightmares can be transcended.

Living in service of our self, our loved ones, the community and our world, we become part of nature, not separate from her. We are also part of the divine, not separate from him. Our divine nature IS abundance. It may appear that this idea of abundance is a singular utopian ideal or spiritual dream, but although we will not go into too much detail here, a huge amount of research has been done by Peter H. Diamond and Steven Kotler on the scientific and evidence based possibility for hope and abundance in their 2015 New York Times bestseller: Abundance: the future is better than you think.

"Perhaps a better way to edge toward a definition of abundance is to start with what I’m not talking about. I’m not talking about Trump Towers, Mercedes-Benz, and Gucci. Abundance is not about providing everyone on this planet with a life of luxury – rather it’s about providing all with a life of possibility. To be able to live such a life requires having the basics covered and then some. It also means staunching some fairly ridiculous bleeding.

Feeding the hungry, providing access to clean water, ending indoor air-pollution, and wiping out malaria – four entirely preventable conditions that kill, respectively, seven, three, and two people per minute worldwide is amongst is a must. But ultimately, abundance is about creating the world of possibility."

For me the word abundance is also synonymous with love. Love is infinite abundance, available to us all now and always. We are however, involved in a choice about whether we open ourselves to receive it, or choose block it.

    Why Reap Abundance?

I could have simply called this The Abundance Guidebook. No doubt it would have been more marketable that way, but I needed to add the word REAP. Not only is this the acronym that I use for the signature system that I use to help my clients to navigate life’s ups and downs, but the word reap itself has a resonance that fits with the idea of the sacred harvest. The cycles and seasons of life, the natural processes and truths which all serve to emphasise that the earth wishes to give us all that we need.

    Scarcity vs. Abundance

I want to remind you about the other side of abundance: scarcity. Over the last few years I have felt that the predominant mindset has been one of scarcity. I feel that a mindset of scarcity is at the centre of the tragedy that we are currently living in. And if we have the courage to change our mindset, we can create a more abundant view of the world.

Scarcity is defined as an inadequate supply, dearth or paucity of something. Whilst in the gym, at the shops and even walking along the street, I am witness to conversations that seem to focus on scarcity and lack.

I consistently hear conversations about there being an inadequate supply. Of security, protection, government action against terrorists, money, land, food, and infrastructure. I have also heard people say, There is nothing we can do.

These conversations are a stark and scary reminder about our whole world and the destruction, fear, and terror that is being inflicted all over our planet, under our noses, and on our watch.

The recurring message that I have been hearing though is that we are powerless. There is not enough ‘x’, you are not enough ‘x’, and I am not enough ‘x’ to resolve this problem.

I know that whenever I get into this mindset of scarcity and lack, I paralyse myself from acting to move towards a resolution. I have seen how this operates in my family, with my friends, my teachers, in my business and in institutions that I support and am a part of.

A scarcity mindset restricts the flow of love that wants to pour from my heart and mind.

So, I choose to believe in abundance. A state where there is more than enough love, land, food, money, infrastructure, compassion, and care to change our world for the better.

Just to be clear, I am not talking about the wasteful overconsumption and hoarding that is often peddled as abundance. I am talking about the recognition that amongst all living creatures on this planet, there is more than enough for us all. Providing that is, that we choose to protect life, our environment, and communities from destruction, and exploitation and that we choose to live in harmony and cooperation with each other.

When we cultivate a mindset of abundance, we recognize that we have more than enough people on this planet who are committed to action and changes in our individual behaviour and consciousness, to bring a counter balance to the fear and terror.

We are powerful beyond measure in our bodies, hearts, minds and souls.

I have been heartened by people praying, sending love, supporting one another and saying, ‘What can I do to change this’?

    What can we do?

We can step out of the media-indoctrinated responses. We can choose to remind ourselves of the abundance that we have all around us and share it with others. We can make the effort to live in a way that has integrity. If we choose to do this, we will start to believe in the power of small changes and individual action to influence the wider world.

Scarcity is also defined as a ‘rarity or infrequent occurrence’. Our media seems significantly designed to keep us in a state of fear and it would often have us believe that nothing good ever happens in the world.

Think of the ratio of doom and gloom in the news, compared to the one and finally bit of light at the end of the broadcast. Let us also remember that although tragic and devastating, bombings such as those in Paris, November 2015, are thankfully an infrequent occurrence.

There are wars all over the world, yet the majority of people do live in relative peace.

The majority of people live in harmony with their neighbours and some even act as genuine caretakers for the land, animals and people that they live with.

Let us remember to tell these stories too.

Let us remember that we have a choice, whether to be paralysed by scarcity or act towards bringing an abundance of love back into the world.

I am going to invite us to share stories of abundance to balance out the messages of scarcity all around us. As you go through this process I am going to invite you to share personal stories of when you have experienced an abundance of love and support first-hand and I will be doing the same.

Share your story with the hashtag #reapabundance and tag @rebelrevmonica @monicadouglasclark so that we can share your stories and spread the message of abundance to bring about balance and counter those of scarcity.

Together we can bring light back into our world which sometimes seems so dark.
