This Guru Book
––––––––
This book is intended to be read in an hour or so, and then revisited as a reference tool as needed. There are a number of useful tools in the back of the book which may be employed as you see fit. You will note that there are many different examples from different industries. These are designed to provide clarity but the solutions offered have broad application to many different business types.
One of the reasons time management is such a challenge for leaders is that causes of poor time management can be widely varied, but the symptoms are the same.
Your employee’s production is off relative to the talent you have scouted in making the decision to hire him. Is he a poor project manager? Does she prioritize incorrectly? Is he a perfectionist who is getting poor return on his time investment? Perhaps she underestimates the time it takes to complete tasks? Does he understand delegating?
The reality is that you or your employee could have any or all of these problems. This book is designed to simplify how you think about time, but it is not intended to be a statistical analysis of employee time consumption.
Read it with a mind toward issue spotting, and use guru techniques to get more out of your employees, which will improve your profitability, and your employee’s income potential. Enjoy!

Chapter 1 The Why
"You can’t depend on your eyes when your
imagination is out of focus." -Mark Twain
You know how important time is, so we won’t waste it on clichés, assuming instead that you know that, or you wouldn’t have purchased this book. You may have even realized the irony of massively long, convoluted books on time management. What you may not know is that one of the greatest reasons for poor time management in your organization could be you, the leader.
THE PROBLEM
Simply put, your employees may not
