Joy Upon The Weeping Of The Willow - Catherine Alston
WEEPING WILLOW
Weeping Willow whom do you weep for?
Do you weep for the rain
That fall on the branches and leaves?
Do you weep for the birds who nest in the trees?
Do you weep for the other trees
That also sway in the wind?
Do you weep because it returns again and again?
Do you weep for mankind and his sin?
Do you weep for joy of Jesus coming again?
Do you weep because to your trunk
Each decade add a ring?
Do you weep because you know
what the next millennium will bring?
Do you weep for your branches that hang down?
Do you weep for the grass on the ground?
Do you weep for the sun that shines
Upon your face?
Or
Do you weep with joy
Because you stand with such beauty and grace?
A TEAR MUST FALL
When at sunrise the day of my birth,
Tears of joy fell from my parents’ eyes,
As my life began on earth.
All through life at times tears fell,
Sometimes tears of pain,
Sometimes tears of happiness.
Now at sunset, there are tears of sorrow,
But I will weep with joy tomorrow,
And be glad that I have found peace in Jesus
Because I’m now at rest.
A SMILE
A smile can improve your face value.
It can elevate you to another level.
A smile is good for your health.
A smile could lead to fortune and wealth.
A smile for your bad disposition can be a cure,
And can make a friend for sure.
A smile shows a positive attitude
That can change them who are very rude.
A smile can make you feel worthwhile.
A smile is always in style.
A smile can lift someone else’s spirit.
It can show your charming wit.
A smile builds your self-esteem.
And can make sad eyes glitter and gleam.
A smile can hide the sadness you sometimes feel.
It can help the heart heal.
A smile can project your inner self.
A smile may be all that you have left.
Sometimes on that cloudy day,
A smile can make the clouds roll away.
No pain, no gain.
Nothing remains the same.
But, with a smile, something beautiful remains.
SO SMILE!
A THOUGHT
I had a thought,
But it escaped me some way.
I had a thought,
But maybe it will come again another day.
I thought, that I thought,
I could have thought what I thought.
When I thought—I thought
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
Pitch black can’t see a thing ahead of me.
I feel tension and smell fear.
But where—where is it?
I haven’t a clue.
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
Evil is lurking all around.
The demons are out in man,
Doing Satan’s evil deeds at night
Spreading havoc throughout the land.
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
Slipping and sliding around like a snake.
Evil is as evil does.
Evil doers I do hate.
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
Out of their minds
High off junk.
Need a fix,
Need a rock,
Need a drink,
Need a snort,
Need a dime.
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
As I wait for daylight to peak
through The dark clouds,
I hear my heart beating—beating out loud.
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
All through the night,
I hold my breath
Hoping not to meet Mr. Death.
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
So cruel the people of this world today.
Before night comes I kneel and pray
For . . .
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
And if before morning Mr. Death takes my hand,
I pray to wake in glory land
Yet . . .
Black Is The Night Before Morning Comes
COLORS
I dream of colors
Roaring shades of you,
And I’m never blue.
.
You’re red—Radiant and Bold!
You’re white—Lovable and Pure!
You’re yellow —So soft and tender to the touch!
You’re green—Joyous and Gay!
You’re gold—Glistening and rich!
You’re brown—Peaceful and at ease!
You’re black—Steadfast and powerful!
You’re pink—Innocent and meek!
DON’T YOU HEAR THEM?
Why must our children suffer?
Why do you deny them
the love and care they need?
They didn’t ask to be born.
We brought them here.
They cry at birth
