A Germ of Hope: Poems, 2001-2015

About this ebook
This collection of poems is about today, yesterday and tomorrow. They’re about an unrelenting sun, and a moon that shows up just in time each and every night to ease our stresses. They’re about shadows you never think too much about and past loves that still know how to make you remember a moment of happiness, even when you don’t want to.
Edward McLaughlin
Edward McLaughlin is a Philly native, working and writing in Los Angeles. He tries his best to see past things whose shadows interfere with his own and see beauty in everyday occurrences that often go unnoticed. He’s been writing poetry for 25 years.

i don’t know how we get through the days
let alone the years
the last 5 years seem like a soft whisper
of nonsense and isolation
but sometimes i hear the screams
those are the minutes, screaming for me
to start, to complete, to grow
i look in the mirror
