Why Digital Marketing?

Are you looking for some proven marketing strategies to beat your competitors? Do you need to compete with big box stores, or are you interested in leveraging online marketing to scale your local business to new heights? Don't risk losing potential customers to local competitors who have invested time and money into local marketing. Being a small business owner myself and working with perhaps hundreds of local businesses, I've learned through trial and error how to acquire and retain customers using online marketing strategies. I've checked out a lot of online courses on local marketing, and I can tell that none of these people have ever launched or managed a local business campaign. Most of these experts offer the same advice and fail to include offline & traditional marketing methods into their courses.

This course provides detailed knowledge about how businesses of any size and in any category can use these online and offline marketing tactics as a part of a successful overall business strategy.

Assumptions:

1 I assume you currently have a customer base or are at least just starting a business.

2 I assume you have a product or service that addresses the needs of your local area or community.

3 I assume you have distinguished yourself from your competition. If you haven't, maybe you can draw some ideas from the following:

• Design - Add attractive signage/package re-design, website re-design & location re-design.

• Service - Go out of your way to improve your customer service.

• Change your target audience - Repackage your product/service or target customers online.

Five Marketing Objectives to Focus On:

Building Awareness.

Influencing Consideration.

Driving Sales.

Growing Loyalty & Retention.

Maintaining Good Reviews & CS Rating.

Building Awareness

In order to build awareness for your business, you need to identify where your customers are located, then establish a beach head within that space. Building business profiles are also a great way to build links and citations.

Identify business directory opportunities & create an account (Complete your profile 100% & keep it updated)

Search marketing (organic and paid)

Social Networking

What a Growth Hack is

and how it can help your business

Growth hacking is a method used to grow your customer base by leveraging technology and social networking. In order for these marketing tactics to have some sort of impact, they have to be embedded in your marketing process and not just something you do here and there. 3 examples of growth hacking :

1 Using Facebook to promote all your contests to your customers. Contests are a good way for customers to engage with your brand. The catch here is that customer has to like your Facebook fan page in order to participate. You can also launch a weekly promotion, E.g. Facebook Mondays, to new customers who haven't liked your FB fan page. Once a guest likes your page, it unlocks a discount code/deal that they can only use on Mondays. A way to accomplish this is using a service called Woobox correction.

2 You can use Pay with a Tweet app to promote all your coupons. In order for a customer to download your coupon, the coupon must be Tweeted or posted to their Facebook wall.
