Chapter 1
Malcolm
How does this feel so good and so wrong at the same time? I have never had any interest in men before or even thought of myself as being the smallest bit of gay. But here I am sitting on my bed letting another man, my friend, Stephen, suck me off. I know I need to stop this, but it feels so damn good. When I close my eyes, I see only Faith’s face, feel only her mouth and hear only her moans of pleasure taking me. Oh, shit. Yes. Take it all,
I yelled.
Stephen moaned even louder, but it was Faith I thought of being with me, giving me pleasure, wrapping her tongue around my cock. The thoughts of her were so strong that I could feel her eyes looking at me the way she always did, as if I was her everything and she was mine. The look that said what we said to each other every day and would say for the rest of our lives. That she loved me and that I love her.
This is wrong, I have to stop this even though Faith is not here, I know I’m still hurting her in some way. I am breaking the trust that she has in me. The trust I promised I would never take for granted.
Faith,
I say her name as if I was speaking to an angel, my happy, beautiful, angel. Even with my eyes open I see her lovely angel, face, but the look was wrong. It was not the happy face I see in my dreams and when I close my eyes. The look on her face was one of shock, sadness and pain. It was like she could see me. Now.
This can’t be real, she can’t be here. No, she is just my imagination. Faith,
I say her name again a little louder, as if I want her to answer me. But I want her to disappear like a puff of smoke, because she has to be just a figment of my imagination. When our eyes locked, I knew Faith was here, watching me with Stephen.
Faith blinked slowly as if she thought when she opened her eyes again, she would not be seeing me with another man. Her lips parted slightly like she was about to say something, but changed her mind and turned, walking out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
Oh, God. What have I done. Faith. Faith. Stop. Baby, please,
I yelled, knowing she was not going to stop. I knew her well enough to know that I would have to hold on to her to beg her not to leave and throw away what we have because of something stupid I did.
I pushed to my feet grabbing my pants from last night off the floor dressing and trying to run at the same time. When I made my way out of the room, I notice Faith had left. I starting running barefoot out of the apartment and just as I made my way down the stairs, I saw Faith pulling out of the parking space. I increased my speed trying to get to her. The car never stopped rolling.Faith,
I yelled, but she only seemed to speed up. Faith. Stop. Please stop.
She never did and I watched as she sped away.
I rushed back into my apartment to get my keys and put on some clothes. I knew where she was going by the sticker on the rental car. I would get there in time before she should find a flight back out to Atlanta. I would make her listen to me, to explain and beg. I just could not let her get back on that plane.
So that was Faith?
Stephen asked when I entered my apartment, but I could not answer, I just had to focus on getting to the airport and getting to Faith. Nothing else mattered. Nothing.
When I arrived at the airport, I searched for hours hoping to spot her. Calling over and over only to get her voicemail. I realized that she was gone. Gone, from Florida and gone from me. As I sat in front of the ladies restroom praying she would come out. I called Faith’s phone again, knowing she wouldn’t answer, hoping she would at least listen to her voicemail and left a message.
"Faith, baby, I’m sorry. I have never done anything like that before. I was drunk last night and I ... I
