      Introduction: Why I Left The Christian Church

      My exodus from the Christian church began in 2009, after great frustration in finding a church that operated in the power of God, which the early church once possessed. Statistics state, at the time this book was written, that 70 to 75 percent of the youth, who grew up in church, leave the church after high school. Why is this becoming such a trend? I cannot speak for everyone who has abandoned church, but I can certainly say that many are tired of believing in things that cannot be proven. Not to mention all the corruption, manipulation, condemnation, scandals, and the hypocrisy. You have a grocery list of reasons why these preacher kids abandon the church.

      I gave my life to Jesus Christ at the age of 14... I grew up in a Christian home, and was raised in church all of my childhood. It was one night in prayer to God that I had asked for Him to speak to me, and I took my Bible into my closet with me. I prayed in the dark, and would randomly open my Bible up to any place, turn on the light, and whatever verse I felt I was drawn to, I would read it. On this particular time I did this, I was drawn to a section in the book of Exodus, where Moses led the children of Israel through the parted Red Sea. It was at this moment that I felt the impression upon my heart, that God was showing me that He had chosen me to set His people free one day. By this time in my life, I figured I would go to Bible College, become a Pastor, follow in my father’s footsteps and start my own church. That was all I expected from this. I would have never dreamed that I would be writing a book, leading people AWAY from Christianity, and the modern church.

      By the age of 16, I received a message of prophecy from a man I had met online, and he told me that God had called me to accomplish an unconventional ministry; I would not fit into what is the usual ways of ministry. I held onto this word of prophecy, still not grasping the full understanding of it. I began at this age to find myself becoming restless with church, as I was becoming more of a student of the Bible. The stories I am reading about Jesus, and the apostles’ work, while attending church every week, seeing the same things repeated over and over, began to wear away on me. I was not mature enough at the time to differentiate between the truth of God’s word, and our handling of His word. I decided by the age of 18, that Christianity was not the truth. I studied Buddhism and Taoism, but was not satisfied with its belief, that there was no personal God. It would be a few months later that I realized, the God of the Bible is the truth, but WE are the ones who mishandle His word. From 2003 to 2009, I visited churches all over, trying to find a place that operated as the early church once had, in the book of Acts. Sadly enough, the more churches I attended, the more foolishness I seen. The last church I attended was a Pentecostal church, and when I had seen them practicing slain in the Spirit, I thought perhaps this was the power of God. However, I noticed there was a woman there in service, who was handicapped, and though they laid hands on people, who were falling over left and right, the pastor had no ability to heal this woman. It boggled my mind, until my sister revealed to me that this practice was really based in India, performed by Indian healers, called Kundalini. When I did my research on this, I saw how these healers were laying their hands on people, and they would also respond with the same reactions, that are performed in these churches today. I made the decision that I would never associate myself with modern church anymore. It would be from 2009 to 2011, that God began stripping me of a lot of things the church taught me, which were not biblical. The idea to write a book speaking on these things came to me in 2011, but I did not feel I was ready to write the book yet, as there were still more things I felt I needed to learn. By early to mid 2013, I began this task of writing this book, and what you are about to read in the following chapters are all the things I’ve began to understand since 2009. You may disagree with me, as this will challenge everything you’ve been taught in church, and about church. However, these things I am sharing in this book will answer the reason why the Christian church has failed you and I.

      I no longer refer to myself as a Christian. In my research I have discovered that this term initially was designed to insult, and mock the disciples by the unbelievers in Antioch. None of the epistles ever directly refer to us as Christians. We are known as the elect, the chosen, the brethren, the church, and saints. Peter used this term once in his 1st epistle, saying...

      Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. (1 Peter 4:16)

      Peter was not endorsing the use of this term, but this is what the Gentiles were calling the disciples, and mocking them in this way. This would be no different, if a Black man in the 1950’s wrote, Yet if any Black man suffer as a Nigger, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. The idea here was to be proud to suffer, as one who was being persecuted, and mocked for the cause of Christ. There is nothing to be ashamed in suffering as a Christian, but it is foolish to go and proudly wear the name, and turn it into a religion. How foolish would it be for Black men to proudly refer to themselves as niggers and create a religion called Niggeranity. It looks silly, and foolish, doesn’t it? Therefore, this is why I do not refer to myself as a Christian, nor identify with Christianity. We are called disciples by Christ according to the Scriptures, and that is the name I choose to identify with. I pray that the information contained in this book will set you free from what Christianity has taught you. Maybe you have abandoned the faith entirely, and stopped believing in Christ. I want you to know that Jesus Christ is everything He says He is, and it is the church that has smeared His name, with all the wicked things it has done. May God set you free from religion to relationship...from Christianity to discipleship in Jesus name...AMEN.
