I would like to thank everybody who took part in helping me put this book together. To my two favorite readers, my good friend/sister Diane and my oldest daughter Erika. Thank you guys. I know you both had to get tired of me sending you parts of this book every day. LOL I appreciated it way more than you ladies know and love you both for it. Thanks to my Jaylin, he was my go to guy, when I felt like I was getting carried away. He’s not a reader but he’s a great listener. Jaylin, thank you for always sitting through me talking your head off. You truly are my favorite son. All my friends are going to think that the characters in this story is them. NO, THEY ARE NOT! LISA P. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU! This is ALL fictional. I love all my friends and hope that none of this ever happened between us. Our lives were pretty boring growing up. (Mine still is) I have to say thank to my brother, Ray. He is like my twin born years later than me. We are always on the same page. I love you Ray, you inspire me so much. I love our six hour brother sister phone conversations. To my favorite girl in world, without you none of this would possible. Thank you Mommy, I love you. You are the best mother in the world. To my big head brother, Redd, you know we share a bond that is out of this world. I’m so grateful for that. We have instilled it in our kids. The poor things don’t know if they cousins or sisters and brothers. And to my baby girl, Ivery. This book is for you. I hope I make plenty money so that I can hire somebody to drive you around to all the things you want to do, because mommy is tired, baby. And last but not least I would like to thank the love of my life. It’s funny how and who you fall in love with. But I love you Rich. If I forgot anybody…sorry I love y’all too though.

My name is Tiffany Jones-Robinson and people call me a know-it-all. I don’t consider myself a know-it-all, I consider myself a seasoned woman, who has been through more than my fair share of men and the fucked up situations that life can bring. I’ve dealt with so many things that I consider myself an expert on life, but I don’t know it all. If I did, I wouldn’t be writing from this prison cell. I know you’re wondering how I got here, right? Well, living a destructive, carefree life has landed me with two life sentences.

I grew up without a father. He overdosed on drugs when I was only three. That left me with my mother and older brother, Joe. My mother despised me. On the first day of kindergarten, she told me to get myself ready for school and had my brother, who is only three years older than me, walk me to school. Mommy, mommy, it’s time for school, I said smiling. Tiffany, if you don’t get your ugly ass out of here I will kick your little black ass. my mom said while lying in bed. But, I need my hair done and my clothes on. Get the fuck out!! mom said.

Come on Tiff, I’ll help you get ready for school, said Joe. You can’t do my hair. I said laughing as Joe tried. Yes, I can. I can do it better than you. Joe said. Well, hurry up Joe. I want to meet my new friends and teacher. I hope Michelle and Tanya are in my class then I won’t be scared, I said. Tiffany, you’re smarter than me and I can tie my own shoes, why would you be scared? Joe asked. Because, KiKi and Monique talk about me. They say my hair is always nappy and my clothes never match. I know my colors, Joe. I said and begin crying. Stop, being so weepy. You cry so much that people are going to beat you up. I’m not going to let them hurt Tiff, but you have to stop all that crying. You should have told me those girls were messing with you, I would have done my karate moves on them. Now, come on we can’t be late for school. Bye mom. Joe said. Bye baby, see you after school. mom said.

That school year I had too many fights after school. KiKi and Monique were cousins, Monique was the main one I fought with. It seems like we would have been friends, seeing that we lived next door to each other. She was a biracial girl, who thought she was too cute. Ugh, Tiffany your hair is so nappy. You look like you’re poor. She said while being coached by Kiki. I didn’t even reply with my mouth, I let my hands do the talking. I beat her ass so good that KiKi didn’t even look my way, not that time anyway.

KiKi tried to fight in school, thinking somebody would help her or she would get a hit in before the teacher broke it up. I would never do that, I didn’t let anything distract me while I was in school learning. Plus, my mom would have kicked my ass, now that’s a fight I know I couldn’t win. KiKi was scary, I beat that ass every time I felt like it. Which was almost every day after school. I had to get my frustrations out some way.

Once I was eight years old, I took over getting myself dressed and making sure my hair was decent. I didn’t understand why my mom wouldn’t do my hair and dress me pretty like all the rest of the girls in my class. Mommy, can you do my hair like Michelle’s? I asked. Tiffany, why are you bothering me? Would you like to go live with your aunt in Florida? I wish you would, it would make both of our lives easier. What do you want to stay here for? Why did your daddy die and leave you with me? I told him I was fine with having only one child. she said. I was crying.

What are you crying for? Yeah, I want you to go live with your aunt. It doesn’t make sense for me to sit here and lie. she said smirking. Why? Joe wants me to stay here. He said he needs me to stay here. I said. He’s just talking. He don’t give a shit if you stay or go. He only wants to play football with his friends. He’s not thinking about you or me. she said laughing even harder.

At that, moment Joe walked in. Why you crying, Tiffany? You need to stop all that crying, that’s why people always picking on you. Stop crying and show them it doesn’t bother you. Joe said. I told her she should move to Florida with her aunt, then she wouldn’t be bothering us with all that crying. said mom. Mom, she doesn’t bother us. All she ever does is read books. Plus, she’s fun to play with. Come on, Tiffie lets go in the backyard. Wait before you go outside Joe, I need to tell to you something. Mom said. Okay. Joe said. I’m getting married and having another baby. Tiffany, go get me some ice water. Mom said dryly. Wow. Was the only word that came out of Joe’s mouth.
