There are more than 100 areas of specialization in Nursing profession. Interestingly, this was a discovery to me even as a Registered Nurse. When a nurse is seen, the first thing that comes to mind is hospital rooms and patients bedside. This is true but also there are more than 100 types of specialization in nursing. I am a 48year old Registered Nurse. Married with 4 children. I started my Nursing career in 1981 when I began a diploma program in Nursing. I also later trained as a midwife. Much later in my career, I obtained a bachelor degree in Nursing. I have worked in multiple areas of Nursing including the bedside. I currently work as a community health Nurse.
