It has been affected by many important cultures of the world, like the European culture, African culture and North American culture. Their art, music, dancing and literature is all influenced by this diverse cultural background.

Cuba, the largest island of the West Indies Group, and one of the largest Caribbean islands, consists of the main island, the Isle of Youth and about 4,190 keys commonly known as cayos. Cuba is situated only 140 kilometres from the Bahamas and 180 kilometres from Florida.
