The Virtues Project was created when Linda Kavelin-Popov, her husband, Dan Popov, and her brother, John Kavelin, decided to do something to counteract the rising violence of children toward others and themselves. They believe violence is a symptom of the disease of meaninglessness. But what would give children a sense of meaning and purpose? Tapping into the world's sacred traditions, they discovered that virtues lie at the heart of meaning in every culture and belief system, from indigenous oral traditions to the world's sacred texts.Their idea evolved into The Five Strategies for bringing virtues to life, from birth to death. The Virtues Guide, a parenting book, was originally published In 1991. In less than two months, by word of mouth alone, it was in more than 20 countries. WellSpring International was stablished as a foundation, then Virtues Project International was formed when they began to ship virtues books and materials worldwide. The Virtues Project has spread to more than 130 countries, and has trained thousands of facilitators who share its virtues-based principles and practices. The mission of The Virtues Project is to inspire people of all cultures to remember who we really are and to live by our highest values.https://www.virtuesproject.com/view less
